Steamed cauliflower florets, some sliced leek, a couple of handfuls of spinach, a tiny bit of cubed boiled potato and some chunks of skinless boneless haddock, smothered in a cheese sauce and baked in the oven until golden and bubbling. I don't know what it's called (fish and veg bake doesn't really sound very appetising) but it will feed us for tonight and tomorrow, and go nicely with a glass of wine :)
  • We had homemade quiche, cold meat and cheese, baby tomatoes, veg sticks, hummus, olives and crusty bread and then the kids had chocolate cakes and jam tarts.  Yum!

No beef pastie from Aldi that had lurked in the freezer for a bit with some beans.
Also made a potato and aubergine curry and an impossible quiche with broccoli,  tinned salmon and some goats cheese added in. Hopefully they're both nice.

  • Making a lentil and green pepper flan today from an old Rose Elliott book called The Bean Book and we'll have it hot today with mashed potato and a nice salad.  If we want pud there are some jam tarts made by the grandson to finish off with custard.
