Beef stew (no dumplings :disappointed:) and a medley of veg (depending on what is on YS at the supermarket - hopefully TS Broccoli, but that might be asking a bit much of the YS machine)

I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

  • Tonight is just pie, mash and beans (Monday tea is always a quick win!), but I haven't posted over the past few days. Over the weekend we had this sticky sesame chicken dish with rice - https://www.kitchensanctuary.com/crispy-sesame-chicken-sticky-asian-sauce/. It's sooooo lovely. We have it fairly often, and we both love it!

Had Ottolenghi ultimate ragu with basmati rice and sweetcorn, green beans and petits pois from the freezer which involved much unearthing in the bottom drawer and rejigging of contents but some space is beginning to become vacant. Had cheese for pud. Think I've had 14 of my 5 a day today so that's a win as well.
    Sweet dreams to all, goldfinches.

Tonight I’m making a pasta bolegnese.
  • Another easy/cheat meal tonight - we had a 'chicken king kebab' from Aldi for the first time and can highly recommend! Really succulent and flavourful.

We served this with salad, pitta, chips and coleslaw.

Tried cooking quinoa for the first time, did it in the slow cooker with some stock, eaten with Ottolenghi ultimate ragu, last of the green beans, sweetcorn, petits pois and sliced cucumbers. Just off to slice up a very elderly persimmon from the depths of the fridge to eat for pud.
I think that makes 13 or 14 of my five today and some more space cleared in the freezer and fridge, brilliant.
