We had savoury pancakes topped with mince, carrots, onions, potatoes, peas in gravy. (A bit like a stew)

Not managed to get my hands on a too good to go bag yet, would love to though, are they any good?

Tonight is gammon steak, roasted veg

  • Chicken and chips for dinner tonight. I have a bag of chips we need to use, with some Nando’s marinated chicken wings. We are scraping the barrel now, using what we have left in the freezer which isn’t much but it’s ok as going food shopping Saturday. But as budget is so tight it will be staples only.

It obviously depends on the place you get them from - I've had two from different local independent bakeries / cafes. This one was £3.99 and I got a long sourdough stick, an almond croissant (huge), a cheese and tomato sandwich croissant and a pastrami / mustard bloomer sandwich. Reasonable value for £3.99 but still £1 each. I'd personally have preferred two more separate items vs the sourdough stick.
The first one from a different bakery had a mix of savoury and sweet pastries and was prob better value for my tastes at £3.49.
Although when I say croissants, we are talking the huge bakery kind, not the little shop ones.

We had pasta tonight. Meat eaters had chicken and bacon, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, red pesto and cream. I had mine without the meat. Topped with cheese and baked.  Served with garlic bread.  Icecream for afters.

I have some cod fillets and jumbo shelled prawns in the freezer, so will make something with those - maybe seafood pancakes, or maybe a fish pie. The weather’s horrible so I’m craving comfort food!
