I had a cooking session today, I always seem to revert to cooking when it's been busy at work.
I made sausage rolls, scotch eggs, cheese scones, broccoli and cauliflower soup, fishcakes and carrot cake.
We had the soup for lunch with scones or sausage rolls and the fishcakes for dinner with mushy peas.
Did the shopping today. Shelves are definitely better. The only thing I couldn't get was cooking oil but I can improvise.
  • Homemade quiche and salad again for lunch today and supper this evening will be a Wartime Carrot Pie which is a base of cooked carrots topped with a breadcrumb based cheese pudding mixture and we'll have it with some mashed potato pyramids crisped in the oven and some green beans and peas from the freezer.  Pudding if we want it will be 'padded pudding' another wartime recipe using stale cake crumbs and custard.  We won't starve will we?

Didn't post yesterday as I was very busy with the garden. We had sandwiches for lunch, and pan fried cod with bacon cabbage and buttered potatoes with chive for tea. It was lovely!
Tonight we are going to have chicken tikka masala for tea-I bought these paste pots on offer couple months back and now they are finally going to get used. Hope they are spicy enough for my OH
Not sure about lunch today.. but we are running low on bread and need to last till Tue, so probably not sandwiches!
    Maybe some savoury pancakes?

    Afternoon folks,

We were up bright and early and had a banana smoothie first thing as the bananas were getting over ripe.  For lunch we had poached egg on toast and tonight is quick and easy night, so pizza with a large side salad.
