Made crusted cod fillet with hassle back potatoes, peas & edame beans. First time I've made this and will definitely make it again. The crust was wholemeal breadcrumbs, orange zest, garlic & fresh dill.

We had to go out on many errands this morning and stopped off at the garden centre for coffee on the way home and were tempted into trying their carvery lunch which was excellent and we will definitely go again many times, best Yorkshires I've ever had in a restaurant. So supper this evening, if anything at all will be a ripe comice pear, some low fat cheddar and a couple of oatcakes.2

Baked Bean Soup serves 4
2 tins baked beans (one pureed with a stick blender)
1 tin chopped tomatoes
200g bacon chopped up
1 large onion chopped up
2 cloves garlic crushed
300ml chicken stock
2 tablespoons Worcester sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt and black pepper to taste
Heat the oil and fry the onion and bacon gently for 10 minutes, add garlic and fry gently for another minute. Add in all other ingredients bring to the simmer and cook for 30 minutes over a low heat (I use a heat spreader on the hob) and you have a lovely thick winter soup that's a meal in itself.

attempting some sort of savoury cheesy bread and butter pudding. I have bread and eggs that need using up...today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.
