made spag bol last night, added in the leftover med roasted veg, it was delicious, same again tonight7

OH had mushy peas and a roll.
I made some chicken noodle soup with HM chicken stock, chicken pieces the cat rejected that I'd frozen, pak choi, spring onions, some celery and tinned sweetcorn rather than buying baby corn and straight to wok noodles, added ginger and chilli too. It's a recipe i haven't done for ages. Portion for lunch or dinner tomorrow too.
Usual status here of needing to do some food shopping but want to use up some stuff thats been hanging about in the cupboards too. Might have to investigate the freezer and see what i can liberate over the weekend.

I try my best with the new forum, but it's not easy, I dont know who I have thanked or even if the thanks button has worked. I even get told off for trying to thank/ react my own post. Which shouldn't have an available thanks button on it. I dont mean to try to thank myself, I read the posts and go back and try to thank them. Then if you press the thanks button twice it cancels out the original thanks, it's all so confusing.
Anyway moan over. Tonight we had some baked jersey royals £2 a bag from Iceland. However they were ok but wont be a regular, with halloumi and mushrooms for me with salad. No bull burgers for daughter and some kebab skewers for husband. I also made a couscous side dish with lots of veg in it.5 -
JIL - Completely agree about the thanks button, wish it would change colour or something once you’ve used it 🙄
We’re meeting friends for a Chinese tonightNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

JIL if you just hover the cursor over the 'thanks' word on a persons post it pops up a list of who HAS already thanked them and you can check if your own name is on the list or not, hope that helps?
I defrosted some lovely lean pork medallions overnight and as I am working today will put them with a red cabbage base into the slow cooker early on this morning to chunter away all day and be ready for supper. HWK will put some jacket potatoes in the oven late afternoon to go with them. I'll also prepare some pears and plums in a casserole to go in with the Jackets to give us fruit compote to have with custard if we want something sweet afterwards.

The pork medallions sound lovely!
Lunch is LO Bolognese with a small baked potato
If tea tonight isn’t the chip van then it will definitely be freezer surprise!

Valentine’s supper at home for me and Mister CJ - baked camembert which I will spike with garlic cloves and serve with chunks of focaccia, fillet steaks (the Aldi ones are always superb) with asparagus spears and garlic mushrooms, a creme brûlée to finish, and we have an unopened bottle of my favourite Chateauneuf du Pape left over from Christmas which will wash it all down very nicely thank you7

JIL I agree about the Thanks button - it was much better before when it turned into a option for 'Remove Thanks'.
I'm also struggling with the fact the forum doesn't currently work with tablets (well iOS at least) as it means I either have to use my phone or get my laptop out in the evening. However I do like the fact when you mark something 'bold' it actually types as such rather than showing as a type of code.
I'm also missing an option where you can easily see your last viewed post, just a button for 'go to last read' would be helpful. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day.
Back on the subject of food, I can highly recommend the CoOp new vegan range. They do Quarter Pounder 'burgers' in the chilled section, they are really tasty.
