We did the last of the shopping after work, really couldn't think of what to make for dinner.
So husband had spanish meatballs with couscous and bread and I had cheese on toast with tomato ketchup.
Mince pie and a cup of tea.

We always have our main Christmas meal today, we’ve gone traditional roast with canap!s to start and a range of desserts or cheeses to finish, too much wine then doze on the sofa.

Have a fabulous time whatever you are doing, and thank you for you wonderful food ideas, I hope to continue to pick your hive mind for inspiration in the coming year x

Fillet steaks all round for us tonight! I will be cooking for most of today to get ahead with things so that I have an easier today tomorrow - it’s an extensive menu!

Echoing what Islandmaid said ..... thank you all for your kindness and inspiration again this year, between us all we just make life a little bit better. Merry Christmas to everyone, and let’s hope we all have a brilliant 2020.

We ended up having steak pie and chips last night from freezer stocks and it was delicious.

  • Just popping in to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, as others have already said, it’s a great thread, full of inspiration so thank you all for that.

Family all arriving mid afternoon, so it’s a traditional Christmas Eve buffet for us today.

  • A guest for Christmas has requested skimmed milk so popped into Waitrose.

The shops are closed for ONE freaking day ands its like OMFG the apocalypse has started. Seriously what the hell is wrong with people? Pushing and shoving, arguments, complaining you name it. It looks like a lot of non-typical customers have descended expecting reduced to 50 pence organic turkeys etc etc.

    Deep breath.

Will be serving roasted sockeye salmon with hollandaise and roasted vegetables for supper.
