    Wraps, spread with refried beans and topped with home made chilli, some sliced avocado, a dollop of sour cream and a scattering of grated cheese; all rolled up and baked in the oven. Quite a lot of filling tried to fall out of the ends, so it will be a messy affair eating this!

    what kind of cereal bars please? this is something i want to start doing

    I cant remember where I got the original recipe from, but I have tweaked it a little to suit our tastes.

    In a bowl mix 50 g flour, 50g sugar, a little salt, a tsp of baking powder, 200g oats.
    Then add nuts, fruit, seeds, I usually use a bag of fruit and nut mix from lidl. But you want about 200 grams. Mix it all together.

    Then melt 75g butter, 75g honey or golden syrup and 25 mls water. I do this in the microwave. Add this to the dry mixture and put it into a greased or lined baking tray. Press it down firmly. Bake for 25 minutes and cut into slices.

    I sometimes melt a bar of plain chocolate on top when they come out of the oven. But that's a bit too indulgent.

    I have tried a few recipes and have tweaked this one many ways. I even use muesli if it's on offer.

    ==========

    Tonight for dinner we had tuna pasta bake, one of my favourites. With salad.

    Out for a Xmas do tonight but don't really rate the restaurant that's been booked so I've just ordered pizza.

    Thanks JIL! Might give it a bash over the holidays
    Last night I boiled pasta twists and served with mince in a tomato and mushroom pasta sauce, a poor mans Bolognese, it was really nice, I also added extra veg and mushrooms and sprinkled Parmesan on top

    Same again tonight!
  • Having recently bought the newly updated Italian cookbook "The Silver Spoon Classic" decided to see what it had to say on pasta Bolognese (Page 118 if your interested) Was surprises to see it was very basic..... minced meat, onion, carrot, celery with tomato puree and some white wine.

    A bit labour intensive but 2 hours later had a pretty darn decent supper!

    Sorry all, I’ve not been around for a few days, Sunday/Monday was horrific in the truest sense of the word.

    Anyway, food, Monday = Cottage pie, Tuesday = chicken pasta, Wednesday = jacket potatoes and salad

    If I don’t get back have a fabulous Christmas and remember it’s about loved ones not stuff guys xx
