Going to make the Hairy Bikers Braised Beef & onions. Will add some carrots & mushrooms as well. Will have with some mash & cabbage. Beef came from freezer and 1/2 cabbage is LO from earlier, so will use it up before it gets too limp to bother with!

I sauteed some chopped leeks and spinach, topped this with haddock fillets dusted with cumin and cayenne then made a cheese sauce to pour over it all and baked it for 30 mins. Served with buttered new potatoes - it was really tasty.
Inspired by this post, this is what we've just had, served with mangetout. It really does have a delicious kick to it.

Found a boxed quinoa meal thing in the cupboard that DM had given me - it's irritating me as it's quite a large box (like one of those Chinese takeaway boxes you see in Friends) so going to have that with some fish tonight. Plus assemble and cook the crumble using berries picked yesterday.

Well I'm glad that I only had one box of that quinoa because it wasn't that nice.
Jury is out on the crumble, it was ok but I found the coconut flour a bit dusty and soaked up the fruit a lot. OH liked it though.

Birds have eaten all the cake, it was a blueberry and banana loaf so wont do them any harm.

Tonight we had mashed potatoes with spring onions, salad, egg, leftover gammon and quorn nuggets.

Tonight's dinner is burger, lettuce, tomato, chips, beans.

Using LO braised steak & onions, duchess potatoes (using LO mash), green beans.

  • Bought a pack of 4 chinese pork steaks yesterday plus reduced culi and carrots so will roast veggies along with home grown cougettes and tomatoes and rice the cauli to have with one of the chops. Also bought pack of reduced BBQ flavoured wedges, would not normally buy ready cut up potatoes but as enough for 2 or 3 meals for me and YS got them, so some tomorrow with chicken breast I think. I also hought a fresh pineapple on Sunday so, as I bought a thingy to peel and ring cut one - not used yet, I will have a go with that.
