Well I guess that's better than the frozen lamb incident in 'Tales of the Unexpected'
Tonight is roast chicken with new potatoes and salad.
I wonder if dogs can eat duck.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Yes that was the one, my mum didn't like me watching Tales of the Unexpected but I seem to recall a large amount if them given I wasn't supposed to watch them :rotfl: (nor was she overly keen on my watching Spitting Image and Hale & Pace on a Sunday night either, though I am sure I knew far more about politics then than now because of it)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

We've just had scrambled eggs on toast with a perfectly ripe avocado diced up and stirred through the egg, it was delicious.
Supper tonight will be gammon with jacket potatoes and peas, carrots and broad beans from the allotment and then poached rhubarb and plain yoghurt from the allotment too (not the yoghurt of course, that's from the Co Op).0 -
MrsLW I channeled your avocado and had one on a bagel for breakfast post run. Really into them ATM for some reason, must be lacking something.
Have just assembled a lasagne for tomorrow, sundried tomatoes, soya mince, chopped courgette and half a sliced and grilled aubergine. Just need to add the white sauce tomorrow and bake. Currently have a chicken roasting which gets shared with the feline. However I am not overly hungry and just picking.
Has a pea and mint scotch egg earlier (second of two from Waitrose) really unimpressed and was expecting great things...it was just crumbly and tasteless. Will stick to Aldi and Lidl ones in future.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Rather pleased with our budget meal tonight as have been failing a bit recently at meal planning. Remembered to take mince out of the freezer (we buy local stuff from the butcher's in bulk) and a pack of rolls which were YS and had been lurking in there for a couple of months. Dinner was grilled burgers in rolls, using up odds and ends from the fridge, followed by Eton mess with Lidl cheap (but slightly squishy) strawberries and the remains of some cream which was going off tomorrow (I like to keep a tub of mini meringues in the cupboard over summer for this reason!). Cheap & satisfying and put a stop to OH who suggested we eat out (as we're both pretty exhausted at the moment).0

I love avocados but they have to be just ripe enough but not over the top for maximum creaminess and flavour and so often they are just a teensy bit on either side of that aren't they? I loved the 'Giraffe' breakfast that is sourdough toast with smashed avocado on and a scrambled egg served with a side of roast tomatoes, combination of all my favourite things!0
