  • The chilli I decided upon turned out to have some frozen meatballs included instead of mince amd I put it in SC Wednesday morning, cooked now so will no doubt have some tomorrow and have room in freezer now. Friend rang to say he had to come to my town today so we did lunch so chops will be later again, cheese on toast tonight. Had hoped for a job tomorrow but did not pass the test so never mind. Another friend is coming on Friday and we had promised ourselves that next time she had an evening off we would have a take away from the Jamaican place around the corner, so looking forward to that.

Honey roast salmon with jersey royals, wilted spinach (needed to cook it a little longer as it was still a bit cold from being frozen) and asparagus (which I didn't break out in hives eating like I have before but still think I might give it a miss in future - slightly worried one day I might have a worse reaction to it)

    Made some homemade Nandos.

Got 1kg of chicken drumsticks. I marinaded them overnight in a homemade dry-rub (had things like paprika, salt, pepper, chili powder, onion and garlic powder.)

I then roasted them for 40 or so minutes, cooked some long grain rice (buy this in 1kg bags) and to follow that up, I had some green beans sauteed in butter, salt, pepper and garlic powder.

I added some peri peri sauce after it was plated.

This was a very cheap meal, and as I live alone, I have some left over chicken for lunch and general snacking.

I've been about 3 times, 1 for a work lunch and 2 other times when friends decided. I dont see the need to pay for something I can make nearly as good at home!
