    Fourth Anniversary
I’M NOT,no, no real cooking today for me and OH as it’s Mothers Day, have just had a hot cross bun with some cheese for Sunday lunch.Had some of my offspring visit yesterday as working today, if anyone turns up this teatime there are plenty of snacks plus cakes made.
  • I am having a lazy Mother's Day, so we had all you can eat bacon sandwiches served with red sauce, brown sauce or no sauce at all, accompanied by big mugs of tea. Compulsory fruit later :D.

  • We had roast beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, peas, carrots and gravy tonight, with a nice bottle of red .. we considered going out for lunch for mothers day but for 3 of us with drinks would have been £50+ so I didn't mind cooking to save that sort of cash, and anyway a home cooked roast is always nicer than anything in a restaurant.

Got a teeny bit of pork from morrisons yesterday morning for 2.50… clearly a good idea to go early! That bit of pork would serve four easy! So it was slowly roasted yesterday and served with crackling, broccoli, cauliflower, turnip, baked potatoes and lashings of gravy. Red velvet cake and ice cream for supper. Tonight we are out for a mothers day meal at the local Italian. Later in the week a chicken will be cooked and split between sweet and sour, sandwiches and curry.

Did some overnight oats with a tablespoon and a half of added bran a banana and double espresso for breakfast

Lunch I finished off the stock from yesterday’s lunch with steamed veg (tenderstem broccoli, asparagus & sugar snap peas) on brown basmati. Recipe was from Nigella’s recipe of the day yesterday....

Supper was a smallish portion of Sardine, chilli and fennel spaghetti (Pasta con le sarde) from The Recipe Wheel by Rosie Ramsden. I left out the flaked almonds....yuck! Greek yogurt with lavender honey for desert.

Made a beef tagine for dinner tonight. Had it with some herby couscous. The meat was so tender it melted in the mouth. Think it's the best I've ever cooked!

A little 'tired' from a few (too many) beers out at the football yesterday todo today has mostly been spent grazing. 'Dinner' is the last of the HM bruschetta and tiger loaf from last week. So at least two things got used up, which isn't too bad all in all.
