I remembered I had some black kale (cant spell its posh name) it had been in the fridge nearly a week, took it out of the packet and a load of little white flys flew off it. There were also lots of dead ones. Put me off, it had a good wash and was cooked.

I had some salmon, Jersey potatoes, asparagus and cauliflower with some hollandaise sauce.  Husband and inlaws had gammon and pork, mash, roasted potatoes, cauliflower and other veg and kale!!

Trying to clear the cupboards of fresh stuff before holidays so rustled up a couple of potato, cheese and onion pies - only downside is that I'm also trying to empty the freezer so might get a bit sick of it ...

Suggested to the OH that I pop out to Taxco to get a lasagne for an easy supper.  In his normal indecisive way he agreed but then added "or anything else you see that is nice".  And I spotted they had salt and 3 pepper spatchcocks with a Clubcard discount.  So I'll ask him again later "do you want lasagne or spatchcock and croquette potatoes?"  That'll give him something to grumble about!!!

I put a bean, tomato, red onion and paprika casserole in the slow cooker after lunch because it was feeling decidedly chilly here today, then I ate it with new potatoes, broccoli and some chives from my allotment mixed with a bit of cream cheese.

Cabbage stew and flatbreads from last night. My mum has promised me fish and chips for helping her with her garden later in the week (actually I drove a rather hard bargain and said I’ll help you with your garden if you buy fish and chips).

The rest of the Ethiopian curry with flatbreads. It doesn’t look like enough but we can have some dessert if not.

    That curry looks delicious!

I defrosted a Christmas-yellow-stickered pork joint over the weekend and had that as roast pork dinners on Sunday and yesterday. I’ve slow cooked the remainder today with onions, garlic, red pepper, mushrooms, sweet paprika and Greek yogurt as a sort of stroganoff for tonight and tomorrow.

@flaneurs_lobster - I think you'd have a lot in common with the author of this article.

I had more bean and tomato stew with green beans, broccoli and carrots.
