    Roast dinner.

  • I cut up a slice of bacon, fried it and added left over potato, sprouts, courgette, broccoli, and cauliflower to the pan, for a tasty bubble and squeak.

we had a lidl lasagne but I put extra cheese on my end.  Strangely not  completely hot even after a good 35 minutes in the oven.  And it had been out of the fridge for 3 hours!

It's salmon tonight.  Half price side of salmon with a clubcard is £11.99.  Too much for us for 1 meal so I'll cut a couple of portions off for tonight and portion up the rest and squeeze it into the freezer somewhere.  I love my salmon!!

Likely pan fry in butter with a bit of zataar.  Very likely white and wild basmati and maybe some cherry tomatoes on top.  We've got some stollen for afters or a month out of date yule log.  (courtesy of the food bank - having been burgled there's been a load of donations but some can't be given out like stuff that's past their BBDs so we share them amongst ourselves.)

I also went to Tesco's and bought the bargain beef, chopped it up and casseroled it with onions, red wine and stock.
Made 6 pies for the inlaws freezer and husband had a single pie. Not bad for £8.22.
I also got lots of the Christmas veg and used some bargain broccoli to bake with parmesan.
The bargain potatoes made dauphinose with some cream that was leftover from Sunday.
I had my broccoli and dauphinose with some smoked haddock from the freezer.

I had a mince pie for afters.
