  • I treated myself with some salmon from lidl that was on promo. cooked it and had some salad in a Vietnamese style dressing. Not something I would usually do but a friend shared a recipe from an instagram post.. was delish!!

Have the rest of the salmon pack to finish and might do some pasta tonight..

Just back from holiday so having an easy supper tonight.  It's actually a repeat of what we had last night as we were in self catering....  There's a farm shop in Ludlow that's great.  Well to call it a farm shop is a bit of a misnomer.  Posh gourmet shop with unusual local cheeses and one of the best butcher's counters you could ever care to see.  We'd bought some really nice pate and cottage loaf (both YS!! so affordable, just) and some cheese and we'll see if we can finish off most of that tonight.

We also bought a very nice looking beef pie that we'll have tomorrow evening I think.

And incredibly early for us but that had some nice looking free range turkey breast - deboned, rolled and with a lattice of bacon - so we bought one and have stuck it in the freezer.  i'm not bit on turkey generally but I know something like this is non fuss for cooking and using up so that's nice.

Someone (who shall remain nameless) was supposed to take some chicken breasts out of the freezer so it could thaw while I was at art class.  He didn't.  So I went and picked up some chicken thighs which I prefer anyways.  Off shortly to fire up the BBQ!!!  Chips and salad on the side!!!

    Stew for dinner tonight.

Lots of carrots (my children love carrots), beef, swede, celery, onion, pearl barley plus seasonings and stock. I think mashed potatoes to serve I’ll see what everyone wants with it.

No idea.  OH has just gone to the shops to get something.  We're so disorganised.

Snap!  OH had a jar of something middle eastern and started off by frying up some chopped bacon (he buys the big chunks from Lidl or one of the Polish shops), added the sauce, then the eggs.  Served with some feta sprinkled in and chopped parsley on top.  It was lovely!!!  The only other time I've had it was for breakfast which I found too spicy even for me at the start of the day.  This wasn't as spicy but was really nice.  Can't remember the brand of sauce but it had a pale blue label and was likely from the international section of Tesco.

Tonight it's sea bass and new potatoes.  My turn to cook!!
