Had a proper roast dinner last night but on the simple(ish) side.  Roast beef coated in mustard and pepper, roasted potato and yorkshires (thanks for both Aunt Bessie!) and peas.  OH, as usual, made himself some gravy.  Discovered we have toooo much gravy in the cupboard as I bought a beef bisto when I got the roast not realising we already had some.  Might take the new one to the food bank just to make space.

Using up the bits from the fridge night tonight.

Fried some onion, potatoes, bacon, and chicken sausage, then chucked in some stock and a splash of white wine and added the cabbage and peas to finish off.

I was a bit dubious, but with some garlic and herbs it was much more edible than I expected.

There was some cheese left so I made pasta in cheese sauce with new potatoes, and steamed carrots, runner beans, broccoli, cauliflower, courgette and cabbage. Some of the vegetables needed using up so I cooked extra to reheat tomorrow.

I made a Spanish omelette with the left over vegetables.

We've been pigging it (literally) with the meat recently so thought we should take it all down a notch.  So I stopped at Lidl and got some passata, a courgette and some prawns.  Knowing that at home I've got an onion, peppers, basil and pasta.  Asked him who thinks he should be obeyed whether he wanted prawns with his pasta or just veg.  His response was "well if it's with prawns I'll have to cook so why don't you do a sauce with the veg."

Pie night, I had a shop bought filo pastry feta pie, a little underwhelming really. Husband had home made steak pie. With mushy peas, carrots and broccoli. Raspberries and greek yogurt for afters.

I had a bowl of homemade soup, which was really just a use up of things in the fridge with a cup of lentils. I found a corn on the cob in the veg drawer and decided to use that. What a mess, I had to clean the tiles, the work surfaces and the floor and that was just using a knife to get the corn off.
Husband and daughter had actifry chips and fish with tinned peas.  I had a ciabatta and mozzarella with my soup.
