well I had said to the OH I would go out and get some chicken so I could make tortillas.  But I haven't got out to the shops yet and he's in the middle of prepping a snake and pygmy pudding.  (which I think is for tomorrow)

  • Cold cauliflower cheese. It was actually ok. I had some briefly sautéed leeks with it that could have done with a lot more cooking. The leeks were from my veg box.

Made a chicken curry with some thighs, with bombay potato and a paneer jalfrezi.

A bit too spicy for me but the raita cooled it down.

Winning at Solitaire requires more than just luck — it involves careful planning, smart moves, and a solid understanding of strategy. While the game may seem simple at first glance, success often depends on how well you manage the cards and think ahead. One of the key strategies is to uncover facedown cards as quickly as possible, giving you more options for future moves. Always prioritize moves that open new cards in the tableau rather than simply stacking cards in order. Another smart tactic is to be cautious when placing cards into the foundation piles too early, as you might need them later to rearrange sequences. It's also important to use empty tableau spaces wisely, preferably for kings that can help build new stacks. A sausage stew to use up four thin, defrosted sausages, cooked in the pressure cooker, with onion, celery, carrot, parsnip and potato and tomatoes.

Fill a baking dish with your favourite Veg (I use Peppers, Tomatoes, Mushrooms, Onions). Add some olive oil and fresh garlic and place in the oven for 30 minuts at 180 degrees (or til they brown slightly). Take the dish out and make four gaps in the Veg. Crack in 4 eggs, sprinkle with cracked black pepper and sea salt and cover in grated mature Cheddar. Cook for 8-10 more minutes. Serve with salad and crusty bread. Easy and healthy (ish).

    And yum, yum, yum...

OH will be prepping our steak and kidney pudding shortly.  Doesn't need a very long steam as the inside bit has already been cooked.  I've just been told I need to go out and get some carrots to go with it.

A Sunday pot roast, a small joint cut from a more economical family sized joint and frozen. I shall bake a tea loaf, then put in an apple crumble and some rock buns while the oven is on.

Last portion of mushroom alfredo pasta bake - it's a great recipe and really cheap to make so will make another batch next week to keep the freezer stocked.

We had the second round of steak and kidney pudding and as with any of these things it's always better when reheated.

To make up for 2 nights of big dinner it will be soup and sandwiches tonight.  I've got some avocados and prawns but don't know what him indoors will want as a sandwich.
