Greek Cypriot restaurant was as wonderful as always...calamari (with salad) followed by lamb souvlaki (with tzaziki rice and greek salad and roasted potatoes) followed by kataifi (like baklava but nicer).  OH had whitebait and lamb shank in a rich gravy with veg (& ate the roasted potatoes....) followed by baklava and greek coffee.  NOMM!!!

Tonight (for 4): 1 large tin of soup that's been in the pantry for about 4 years, 1 portion of brown spaghetti with mushroom/courgette/cream, 1 portion of white macaroni with same, 1 portion of mash with raw escarole and bacon bits, the last frozen hamburger (we don't like this brand - I'm slowly finishing the packet) with the last hamburger bun (same) and accessories.

I have put beef bourguignon in the slow cooker. That will do for Tuesday.
I love beef bourguignon, do you have a recipe please?
I didnt follow a particular recipe. But will tell you what I did.

I just fried off some chopped streaky bacon in garlic oil, with some chopped onions and a half teaspoon of dried thyme and then added the cubed beef. Added peeled and chopped carrots and then put this into the slow cooker.
I added a small bottle of red wine (aldi) a beef stock cube, a squirt of tomato puree and just a little water to the frying pan I had just used. Then heated it up, poured it over the meat and veg in the slow cooker and cooked it on low for about 7 hours.
I added some whole baby onions (round shallots) and baby mushrooms at the start of the slow cooking.
Some recipes do say to add chopped bacon as a garnish but once it's in the slow cooker, then I dont tend to add anything. Husband did taste it last night and there was gravy left over once it was portioned up that he had on his Sunday dinner as he said it was so good.
Thank you 🙂. I will give this a try this weekend.

Florenceem - If I come to yours for tea will you bake me one of those??!?!?!

Tonight we're doing a bit of a fridge tidy - OH suggested finishing the bratwurst but they've been open in the fridge for a week so I'm not going to chance that!  There's some random tapas, pita & hummus, salad, soup available and about 3 loaves left over from the food bank that would have been binned if I hadn't taken them (no room left there in the freezers or fridges).
