My brothers and I went out to a Swiss Chalet restaurant with my mom to have their Thanksgiving special.  Quarter chicken done on a rotisserie, salad or chips, stuffing, roll, cranberry sauce, (appalling) gravy (some people love it) and pumpkin pie all for $16.99.  So about £11 each?  Pint of really nice beer was $5.99 so about £4.50.  Mom really enjoyed the outing!!!

Flight from Toronto to Heathrow delayed until midnight so I'll have to take some sandwiches to the airport as nothing will be open by the time I get there - very annoying.

@Brie - Aargh, poor you. Hope you manage to sleep once you're on the plane.

I'm having yesterday's meal again as it's still quite warm here.

Flight delayed until 1 am so airline has provided 2x$15 meal vouchers.  which can't be used as none of the restaurants are serving meals so late at night.  Thankfully they are good for a year so potentially I'll use them at some point. So I had a beer (Rockett Red, very nice) and then a set item of wings and Coors (the wings were ok-ish and Coors is just acceptable)  Was going to have another Red but they've sold out but they did still have a Coors so ho hum, have had that.  Will need to wander off at some point soon (obviously) and will see if the donut shop is still open.  Everyone loves a Timbit.... (donut holes, in case you've not had them, rare but available in the UK (but mostly in Glasgow))

We,ve got into the habit (or at least OH has as he has to do all the cooking now) of making  extra mashed potatoes and turning the surplus into potato cakes.  They freeze well and are useful when yiu want an easy meal with a fried egg, baked beans or whatever.

  • Last night we had hm crispy chicken burger in a bun with salad and some fries.

Tonight we're having hm carrot and coriander soup from the freezer with some Cheshire cheese and a granary roll. I've just taken a dozen rolls out of the oven and they smell divine...
Will make a sponge pudding with foraged blackberries, served with custard, for afters.
