OH excavated Riverford organic diced beef steak from the freezer yesterday, defrosted it in the fridge overnight and stuck it in the slow cooked this morning. A Kallo very low salt beef stock cube plus boiling water, organic onions, organic carrots from Lidl, organic fennel from Milk & More, swede and celeriac from ASDA and whatever else he found.

Bro has purchased a side of salmon which will likely go on the bbq.  I went wild at the farmer's market - don't think I've been there for about 3 or 4 years.  Lots of lovely produce so some of it will be had tonight and the rest over the next couple of days as the 2 other Bros arrive and before I head back to Jolly Ole.  Prize finds include purple peppers and honeynut squashes - like butternut but apparently richer so I'm hoping to nab some seeds to grow as well as enjoy the eating.

  • I made a soupy sort of stew with various leftover veg from the fridge, this W*rose soup mix and some golden tofu sticks which are 44% protein, eaten with petits pois, sweetcorn, grana padano and cous cous.

  • It was a lovely sunny day here, quite different to the lashing rain overnight, so I had a salad of lettuce, cucumber, celery, strawberries, artichoke hearts and feta dressed with olive oil and black pepper followed by the rest of the strawberries and coffee.

Steak on the bbq and baked potatoes.  Also did a baked honeynut squash which was lovely - nicer than a butternut so I've saved some seeds on the off chance I can grow some next year.

Just a snack tonight as I have been out for 8 hours at my SA table top sale - very tired.

  • @Florenceem - that sounds exhausting, poor you, wishing you an early night with a hot water bottle and a good book.

It's been quite warm here so I threw together some salad bits from the fridge with cheese and a slice of courgette and tomato loaf, followed by some YS strawberries.
