It’s our wedding anniversary today, so will push the boat out a bit.

pan fried duck breast with redcurrant glaze, with a side of celeriac Dauphinois and a mix of asparagus and broccolini stir fried in the duck fat.

pud, one of his favourites, chocolate fondant with clotted cream and raspberries

will open a bottle of Nytimber too 😉

a celebration meal for under £20 total excluding the wine, which was a Christmas gift

Happy anniversary @Islandmaid!!!  Love a bit of pan fried duck breast!!!  And the rest too!!!

Got a rye sourdough loaf that will be lightly toasted and served as the base of a mix of shallots, mushrooms and cream.  Berries for dessert.

Every day here it seems to be French beans & tomatoes "with something" here.

Had such good crops this year. But even your favourite foods can bore with time, no matter how many new ways yiu try to find of serving them.

    Happy September all…

@goldfinches those biscuits look scrummy… maybe I should go back to baking, when the kids where home I baked a lot, now I limit carbs and OH would have to eat it all 🤣 maybe I could freeze cookie dough and just slice off his daily recommended allowance 🫣🤣

We using up what’s in the fridge tonight, he’s having a jacket potato with tuna mayo and salad.  I’ll have the LO sausages with some salad.

Yesterday I made a thai chicken curry and I had vegetable biriani.

I'm tempted to have a fish and chip takeaway tonight but maybe it woul be better to raid the freezer. Whichever way it will be fish and a potato product. With peas.

  • I succumbed to temptation at M*rks earlier today and consequently had delicious but very expensive bread, cheese, kimchi, sauerkraut, olives and nuts for dinner.
