  • Just put some peri peri marinade on a whole spatchcock chicken. Will roast in a bit and serve cold later with salad, slaw and baby local new spuds. Leftover chicken to be frozen for another day but will keep a bit back for sandwiches.

Have also had the slow cooker on this morning to do a sausage and bean casserole. Half gone in the freezer and the other half for dinner tomorrow with cabbage and leftover airfried new potatoes.

Pleased that you managed to save the freezer food @JIL

Last night I gave the kids the last of the fresh tagliatelle with tomato sauce and meatballs at 4:30 before their cricket matches. After getting back 3 hours later, my get up and go had got up and left, so DH and I had fried egg, HM wedges (potatoes needed eating so just shoved them in the airfryer with seasoning) and mushy peas. Delicious!

Tonight we had breaded chicken with rice, broccoli, carrots and katsu curry sauce (baguette for the rice dodger).

    May I join in please?
  • Far too warm for sausage casserole, so that's gone in the freezer. Think it'll be ham salad for dinner tonight with a couple of hm granary rolls from the freezer.

I'm throwing together a whole load of things which need using up to make some chicken and prawn eggy fried rice. This will clear out the last of the mushrooms, peas, sweetcorn, spring onions and pak choy. I'm sure I have a small tin of water chestnuts somewhere in the cupboard too.

I made a large tiramisu for this week's puds but to be honest we'll probably just go for an ice lolly each :)

Veggie curry. Made on Monday and if spicy food is suitable for the Indian subcontinent I’m sure it’s fine for the temperatures we are having at the moment.
