Hope your hubby is ok @Florenceem x

OH and I met SIL (my SIL, his S) today for brunch/lunch. I had a full English which i virtually inhaled, and was so pleased the beans weren't Heinz. SIL had a veggie brekkie and OH had fish n chips (we just snuck in to bag the end of the breakfast menu cut off and the start of the all day menu, aka perfect timing)

    So, no cooking tonight.

Good wishes winging their way to you @Florenceem and hope your husband is soon on the road to recovery x

We're finishing off the slow cooked beef in red wine stew thing that I made for yesterday, with the last of the mashed potatoes, cauliflower cheese and green beans.
  • As the sun begins to set and the day turns to night, the question on everyone's mind is, "What's for dinner?" The kitchen is a flurry of activity as pots and pans clank together and knives slice through vegetables. The aromas of spices and herbs fill the air, making mouths water in anticipation. Will it be a hearty pasta dish, a sizzling steak, or a fresh salad? Whatever the choice may be, one thing is for sure - dinner will be a delicious and satisfying meal that brings everyone together.

Fish cake and veg for tea tonight, using up what we have in. I also have some salmon which I will cook towards the end of the week. Chicken fajitas tomorrow night, to use up some of the chicken I have in the freezer (must remember to take that out tonight) and probably a quick sandwich or JP on Wednesday.

I'm going to meal plan for the next few weeks as there's a lot going on at home and I need to be organised, may do some batch cooking and utilising the chest freezer we have for convenience.

schnitzel and salad.  might add a tin of potatoes if there's a demand for them which there might be when the OH sees that I've got rocket and spinach leaves and very little iceberg.

Last night we had spaghetti and meatballs with salad. Tonight I’m going to make the kids pizza from a couple of flatbreads that need using up, DH and I will have leftover Moroccan chicken and couscous from Saturday night.
