@C_J the pub had a restaurant side and a cosy bar side. We chose the cosy bar side so paid for food when we ordered at the bar, which i kinda prefer because then you're not spending ages trying to get a servers eye for the bill.Well today has been interesting to say the least. RCD started tripping at 3am (OH was up) I spent from 4.30am to 6am trying to figure out what it was and finally isolated it to the fridge freezer, because of course it wouldn't be something easy to do without. Thanks to our lovely neighbours one has some of our food in theirs, and the other has lent us their spare feeezer which they've just taken out of their kitchen. So overall, aside from some bread items nothing major was lost.So tonight was casserole located from the freezer. Tomorrow will be pasta from the freezer. Thankfully its so cold outside that the fridge stuff is ok in a cool box on the patio.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

stopped at a butcher's shop I've passed so many times over the years. right pleasant people and excellent looking meat. Got myself a nice rump steak for tonight (mixed roasted veg? rocket salad? peas and mini jackets?) and OH has a pork pie. That's not me being nasty but he's in hospital so this is just a little treat to go with the institutional fare.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. He's got a bit of surgery tomorrow - something they consider routine despite it sounding very scary to me. Then it may be the following day he's released back into the wild. Hopefully. Off to visit and deliver his pork pie.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. anyways our dinner tonight was reduced marinated pork chops from Lidl and then I’ve done a spicy rice with veg. Actually really enjoyed it. I paid £2 for the chops, only 4 in the packet. I wouldn’t pay full price which I’m not even sure what they were full price.:money::rotfl::T4 -
@Brie sending best wishes to Mr Brie. I bet he'll appreciate the pork pie.I had a relatively routine surgery last year, just an outpatient appt but as it required GA they wouldn't let me leave until I'd eaten the lunch I'd ordered pre-op. I most certainly wasn't hungry and think a ploughmans roll has forever been tainted for me. They did furnish me with plenty of tea though.Freezer surprise tonight turned out to be pasta with mixed veg, meatballs and mozzarella. I thought the meatballs were gnocchi so that was a nice surprise.Have taken the opportunity of the fridge freezer not working to give it a thorough clean. I was going to wait until we knew if they could fix it, but then I thought if they can fix it, I'll want to have it on and back in use asap.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Thank you everyone for your wishes. I'd mention it to Mr B but he's say "who are these people?" I don't think he understands the underweb which constantly amuses me given that he's my toy boy. Salmon, rice and cabbage. It seems like it's been a long time since we had salmon and it felt like such a treat (I only bought it cause it was YS). We used to have it weekly but I think due to the ever increasing price of it, it's now only going to be once a month at most.3
