No cooking for me today as it was lunch club at SA - we had bangers and mash followed by sticky toffee pudding with sauce and custard.
Jil - I had a look at some sites about rising cost of baking a Victoria Sandwich - they weren't even using fresh cream as filling. I use budget ingredients and people look forward to my bakes. As I donate all the cakes I need to keep the cost down.

I would also look forward to your bakes @Florenceem.

I have no idea how the cost comes to £13.50.  I think it's way too high.

Tonight we just had a load of salad items, with leftover potatoes from yesterday done in the actifry.

Used some more freezer bits up. Some egg noodles, Crayfish, sliced spring onion the end of a bag of Asian style stir fry veg, then added some extra peas.
Added a coconut and lemongrass stir fry sauce.
Unfortunately it wasn't great. I think actually I'm not a massive fan of lemongrass. There's some left for tomorrow (can't bring myself to throw it away) but I think I'm going to add a squeeze of lime juice to it. And serve it with a kfc style drumstick (also from freezer).

I'm trying to use up all the random bags of bits in the freezer before xmas. Fed up of them all falling out and not really knowing what's in there.

  • Hog roast sausages in baguettes tonight, I'm on night shift and by the time it gets to Thursday night I really can't be bothered with making a proper meal!  Just air frying some bacon to do bacon & egg sandwich filler for tomorrows baits for me & lovely bf.  Got a glut of eggs so trying to jazz them up a bit rather than just egg mayo!
