I didn't fancy anything much so just had the last few jalapeno poppers from the freezer with pita bread and salad followed by a passionfruit and coffee.5

I’m making pan fried cod fillets with Cajun spices and lemon, served with tenderstem broccoli, asparagus and mangetout - everything apart from the cod was free from the Community Fridge. They’d had a huge delivery of Hello Fresh ingredient boxes 😀4

OH has bought Lidl's Delmonico steaks and has the bbq set up for later. He's declared the propane bbq a no go (you can smell gas even when it's lit so not sure what's happening there....) so bougth some of the "light the bag" charcoal to put on the little proper bbq. He's declared it will be served with tinned potatoes (not my favourite but that means I won't eat a lot) and a tin of peas and carrots. There may also be salad. There may also be escargot (Lidl!) and a baguette to start. There will definitely be YS madagascar vanilla cheesecake from Tesco topped with raspberries. (frozen not fresh - no fresh soft fruit available any more!!)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. A lovely cheap meatloaf recipe tonight.
1 pack of cooking bacon (the pack which is 500g for 75p) whizzed up in the food processor with a red pepper and a courgette. Then whizzed up a few slices of brown bread into breadcrumbs, and mixed it all together with a bit of brown sauce and a shake of garlic powder.
Pressed into a loaf tin, and baked in the oven, with roast potatoes, all served with a tomato sauce made from passata.
Enough meatloaf for about 4 people and it can be stretched out further with more veggies in it (a drained tin of chick peas is good) or a handful of oats. This mixture can also be formed into meatballs as well, or burger shapes and they cook quicker that way. It's a great way of getting hidden veg into children.5 -
Brie - We had some lovely items for sale - both on our tables - SA had 4 tables and on the other stalls. I got a pair of winter boot style slippers - Next - bnwt - ticket price £22 - I paid £5. Will keep my ankles warm. My jumble table was very popular - I sold coats for 50p, jumpers for 30p and warm hats for 20p. We raised the money for the Salvation Army Big Collection. I help to organise the table top sales - at our next event in October - we are having a table of designer clothes for sale. People are generous to the SA - I had people bringing in bags of donations while the event was happening. It is a lot of hard work - I was sorting out items for the bric a brac area yesterday and up early today - did nearly 10,00 steps when I looked at my phone at home.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Have PM'd you Florenceem
Last night I sliced up the gammon I had made in my slow cooker, and had four portions to go into the freezer and have had two meals off the rest, so six portions for £3.40 works out around 56p per portion for meat so I'm quite pleased with that.it was delicious as well as I had cooked it in cola and a smear of honey.
No more food shopping for me this month, and had £8.14 left from my food budget for September which has been squirrelled away toward a 'big shop' later this year. Only five days left from september and more than enough stuff to keep me going

Not sure what i'm having tonight, doing 2 shifts at village pub today (waitressing & bar work) it tops up my wage from my hospital job! If there's any roast dinner left at pub sometimes I'll get one to take home so I might get lucky! Otherwise it'll be some toast haha!
Have a good day peeps!
