Brie - all the cakes went - I had a little boy crying because he didn't get one of my cakes - someone volunteered to give out the cakes today while I made tea.
Went for a walk to the harbour - had some lovely cockles and chips on the way home - no cooking for me today - it is my Birthday.

  • Happy Birthday to @Florenceem and Belated Many Happy Returns of the Day to @kerri_gt.

Roast veg from yesterday with mushrooms to be followed by stewed apple and a coffee as soon as I can heave myself off the sofa. I'm eating very late because I sat down when I came in from my walk and fell asleep, must have been the fresh air!

Happy Belated Birthdays to both @kerri_gt and @Florenceem!

@Florenceem - lovely to know the cakes are so well liked even if it did cause some tears!!  And glad you had the night off chef duties!!

pork chops tonight.  not sure if I'll do roast veg with them or use some of the frozen cabbage and have a few new potatoes as well.

Was planned to be sausage and mash (celeriac mash for me), but it’s blooming boiling here, so chicken salad wraps, coleslaw and corn on the cob instead
Plan is for sausage (yellow sticker veggie sausages we have stocked up in the freezer) and mash here too, with carrots and mushroom gravy.

It's 21C here but chucking it down.  Humidity was 80% this morning so it just feels bleugh.

This is lovely if you're after gluten free.  It's called a pudding but it's very cake like in texture.  The ground almonds give it a nice meringuey flavour.  Excellent both hot and cold.
