That selective blindness must be very trying! I shouldn't laugh but this was very funny, hope you had a good painting class.
Yes - I've told him he should get his eyes checked but he just tuts.  Happens repeatedly - standing in front of the open fridge, can't see the mayo, in front of an open cupboard, where's the soup??  sigh.  (sexist question - do women do this?  I never hear men complaining about it)

And thanks for asking - art class was very satisfying.  Nice group of  people who always find nice things to say about my poor efforts.  Was there for about 6 hours, did a painting I've been thinking about for some time and then another which I had also been thinking about but took only a stonking 15 minutes max.  And turned out rather well.  I'm going to try to have a couple more goes at it and maybe give the copies to friends as presents.

And the teacher always brings home made cake.  Todays was a victoria sponge but with fresh strawberries instead of jam.  Lovely.

Quorn chicken nuggets in tiger bread (YS) with Caesar dressing, lettuce (from the garden) and vegetarian Parmesan style cheese. With chips.

Followed by strawberries (YS), melon (YS), plums (YS) and banana.

It’s the Isle of Wight festival this weekend, so the roads will be jammed, shopping done, hiding at home as we’re not attending this year, kids are camping though, so we’re prepared for drop ins for showers, food etc

basic BBQ tonight, chicken, burgers etc making potato salad and an Orzo salad using mint, coriander and flat leaf parsley all of which have loved the damp warm weather, which has now turned into glorious sunshine.  Our fruit bushes have gone mad too, loving watching GS pick fresh berries for his breakfast 🥰

    stay safe all x

<waves from a few miles to the west>

Stay safe, stay in doors and if you can't wear sunscreen!!!  And a hat!!!  I expect the festival goers will be sun fried quite quickly!!  Don't forget that yoghurt is very soothing on burnt skin!!! (plain, full fat for best results)

I think tonight it will be cous cous with courgette and peppers topped with bbq chorizo sausages.  I've also got chicken thighs, pita, humous and lettuce and tomatoes as an alternative.

Aww, the Isle of Wight Festival - we used to love visiting for that!  But oh, the traffic jams and crowds. Also the Garlic Festival - is that still going?

I picked up lots of lovely free fresh veg from the community fridge today (red peppers, onions, aubergines, courgettes, mushrooms, spinach and potatoes), plus sachets of massaman curry paste, a carton of basmati rice, a tin of coconut milk and some fresh coriander so despite the heat I am about to venture into the kitchen to make a veg curry for tonight.

@Brie - I'm not sure whether women can't see things when they look but I do remember one of my mother's catchphrases being "go and look again with your eyes open!" so children definitely can't.

Your class sounds lovely, I hope you'll pop a photo of your efforts on here for the rest of use to admire sometime.

I went to my new cooking class yesterday evening and we were given strawberries with vanilla cream as a treat by the teacher along with spicy rice and roasted peppers in aqua pazza accompanied by steamed rainbow chard that we all made during the evening. I had the same this evening (minus the strawbs) from the containers I brought home with me and still have another portion left in the fridge. Now enjoying  a sauvignon blanc spritz on the sofa with a good book.

@C_J yep Garlic Festival still going, garlic farm one of our favourite places to eat 🤩

we’re escaping the Island today for a day out at gun wharf Portsmouth. An amazing fish market close by, so we buy early and collect just before sailing home.

    Long lazy lunch planned 😆
