Sadly I think the commute would be a bit too far for you though
Tonight we are having some salmon fishcakes which I made some weeks ago and froze (so yay! a tiny bit more space freed up in the freezer!). Will serve with salad to be good, and some chips which will let the side down a bit. Carbs don't work on Saturdays though, right?
fyi - chips are just potatoes that have been cut so all the carbs can leak out. Last night the kids and DH had lasagne, salad and baguettes because I went out for dinner with the girls which was lovely.Today DH and youngest are out until late, so eldest has two friends here, they will be having usual teenage boy fare of pizza, curly fries, mozzarella bites (and veg sticks to ignore). I’m not sure what I’m having…..chips and dip?!Books read 2023 - 49/754 -

Last night was noodles and preserved vegetables, (they usually come in a can, but these were a sachet) from Chinese supermarket...with bacon...as that's what meat came out of the freezer.
Today cheesy pasta with a southern fried chicken burger. A shop bought ''value'' chocolate mousse for pudding3 -
Toad in the hole with a home made apple pie for pudding that I made with my son this afternoon. Twas delicious."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein3

I had this soup which I tweaked a bit as I didn't have the red pepper so threw in a large parsnip instead Curried red lentil soup recipe - BBC Food
It was delicious with brown bread, it's definitely going into my successful recipe folder.6 -
I bought the mothers day offer in m&s, £20 for a roast, 3 sides and a dessert. So the lamb was cooked today, theres no way I would have paid £15 for it.
That was cooked and served with roast potatoes, carrots and parsnips, purple sprouting broccoli and an ms side of greens in a cheese sauce. I dont eat meat, however
husband (and dog) thought the lamb was delicious. Lots left.
I also got 2 more sides of pigs in blankets and an apple pie which are now in the freezer for another day.3 -
I had a homemade GF/lactose-free cheese and broccoli soup.Takes ages and is pretty messy to make (that may just be me however
), but the taste is outstanding!

But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"4 -
It's mainly been soup / sandwiches here the last couple of days but a more filling lunch yesterday bacon avocado and croquettes. Thinking maybe fish and noodles this evening. I've located what appears to be bought frozen trout from I/land in the freezer. I'll pop some spinach with it to make sure I am getting my greens.4
