@Brie - I’ve also seen them in Aldi but haven’t tried them.
I feel a bit like I’m losing at life this week, more frantic rushing around ended up in a McDonald’s for me and the kids tonight. Ah well, an occasional one won’t kill us 😉 DH is going to be back late so I’ve got him a portion of cottage pie out of the freezer.Books read 2023 - 49/753 -

Oh, that’s lovely! ❤️Tonight I am making pan-fried harissa-spiced cod fillets served on a mix of green lentils, onion, and red pepper. Loosely based on a recipe I pinched from the Hello Fresh website.
I need to make another dessert, the Tiramisu now being finished. I’m planning on whipping up a little bit of sweet pastry and topping it with some mincemeat (jar left over from Christmas), stewed apples, and a meringue top. Not sure if this is an actual dish, but it will finish up a lot of stuff very usefully.4 -

Market day and the mean old OH wouldn't let me look at the pork. Grrrrrr. And he decided we should get a brisket and pointed out that I have to cook it (he likes my tafelspitz!) So in retaliation I made him go with me to the fish shop and we ended up buying salmon (breakfasts for me), smoked cod (breakfast for him), mackerel (breakfast for him) and swordfish steaks which he'll be doing his wizardry on this evening. Likely pan fried in tomatoes and shallots and served on rice. So I bought some Orvieto to go with. And we bought some of those big soft cookies for afters.
And after the market we went out for breakfast to our regular Thursday place to get our regular Thursday fry up. And in an hour I'm off to see a woman who runs the local community garden charity about some tomato plants. I said I wouldn't bother this year as the £2 I'll spend on 3 plants will likely produce about 20p of tomatoes (cuz I'm rotten at growing tomatoes) but maybe, just maybe, I'll get lucky this year.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
