I managed to stay very nicely under budget with the food shopping last week, so tonight I have treated us to a couple of 28-day matured fillet steaks from Aldi (they have always been really nice, never had a bad one yet!), with some garlic mushrooms, peas and the obligatory jacket potato
For puds this week I have made a dark chocolate, mandarin orange and brioche bread-and-butter-pudding.4 -

I will be finishing of the last of the HM veg soup with the last of the croquettes and final southern fried chicken burger. There are plenty of crackers/butter if I still need something else to top up/go along with it.3

I've chucked some diced beef, onions and mushrooms into the slow cooker with some beef stock and a good glug of red wine. To be served with mash and green beans.3

Been away for a few days over half-term, back yesterday and had lasagne, Italian roast baby potatoes, broccoli and sprouts.
I was really pleased with myself last year as I managed to lose 20lbs - sadly realised this morning that no, my jeans hadn’t shrunk, some of it has reappeared 😳🙄 So back to the healthy meal planning, lentil and chorizo soup for lunch (+ a cheese sandwich for DH), and bean chilli for dinner with rice, salad and potato wedges for those not tight in the jeans department 😉Books read 2023 - 49/753 -
I made a big pot of chilli with turkey mince and some mushrooms/peppers that needed using up. With rice and tortilla chips. A couple of portions left over for another day when I can't be bothered.
