We went out to a local, traditional Italian with friends last night, I had smoked salmon and avocado salad to start, then flambé (at the table) steak with brandy and mushrooms for a main, with a side salad 🥰 it was very ‘Abigail’s Party’ and wonderful 🙂Roast beef and all the trimmings here today, no spuds for me but I have arrowroot Yorkshire’s 😜 more low carb than Keto, but SO excited 😆Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Hah! Abigail's Party!! That's something I have a real love/hate with. An excellent slice of a time but it does make me cringe! (but I suppose it's meant to) One of the mirrors I hold up when I know I'm not behaving nicely with the OH!! But I do do do love a good trad Italian place. Especially if they have whitebait! Our local pizza delivery place does them but it just seems wrong to have them delivered for some reason. (excellent pizzas though so they'd prob be great - we keep saying we must actually go to them for dinner some time.)
Lovely rolled shoulder of pork tonight. OH offered to do them and some rolls so we could just have sandwiches but I voted for the proper dinner. Roasties (limited in number but that's fine as long as he has some) and peas. I have some rocket and tomatoes so might do a bit of salad as well. Or just have the rocket on the plate under the pork - it's such a nice way to eat it I find.

I tried to make an all in one dish I saw on Instagram with roasted, potatoes, parsnips, carrot, onions and herbs. Ten minutes before the end stir kale into it.
It was all going well, until when adding the kale I burned my hand. Then there was a hunt for savlon.
The kale ended up so crispy it was more like powder. It was nice enough, husband had chicken I had vege sausages.

@JIL
your accident supports my theory that kale is evil and should be avoided at all costs! No doubt savlon is the best thing but when in doubt in the kitchen you can always use butter!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Left over pork roast in buns for dinner.....I might go out and buy the paninis from Tesco as I would prefer those to the crusty rolls the OH likes. And I could then use one for some lunch for work tomorrow as well. (though the staff restaurant menu says they're doing grilled cheese sandwiches for £2 which would be nice too)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I'm making a cottage pie for tonight - and I'm adding so many diced vegetables that I think they may overwhelm the meat content! I've cleared the veg box though, which is good.2

Hand isnt too bad, however I had my booster yesterday and I'm now really feeling sorry for myself.
I was fine until I woke up in the night shivering. I have slept all day, no appetite and no energy. It shouldn't last too long and it's got to be done.
Husband also had his booster, he doesn't seem to have any side effects so he cooked. We had jacket potatoes, with a choice of chilli or cheese and beans.3
