Last of the mushroom risotto with some petit pois added and a portion of bolognaise. Bit of a random mix but cleared a portion of bog out of the freezer.

OH has done a stew of venison hearts in red wine to which there will be mushrooms added and finally dumplings. This was planned for last Saturday but we got delayed. I know it will be lush.
Had to pop out to get some yoghurt for the morning and noticed in the BBF fridge that there were 2 packs of 2 duck legs. £2 each. That may be my birthday dinner next week. They're currently in the deep freeze until I decide. I was thinking of either duck breast or lamb rump steaks.
Tentative menu....
pan fried scallops served on a bed of rocket.
duck breast with pak choy or lamb rump steaks served with peas and new potatoes
I might make chocolate mousse* for dessert. Or maybe fudge pie. Or do something wicked with those mahoosive meringues that they sell at the pasty shop (size of a football nearly!)
*mousse is simply chocolate melted, cooled and then added to whipping cream, then whipped. I could inject that into the meringue along with some caramel sauce? Or maybe I should just stop watching British Bake Off.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Harissa Chicken with cannellini beans and salad (fast 800 again) missing starchy carbs but it does seem to be helping the waistband.

It sounds great, wish I could persuade my OH that offal is good, I've managed to get him to try chicken heart teriyaki only because he couldn't work out what it was.OH has done a stew of venison hearts in red wine to which there will be mushrooms added and finally dumplings.
