    I flew BA , 747 There, 777 Back..........
Future flights if using BA = will be to LAX only and i'll drive to Vegas!
More legroom on a Ryanair plane, and better comfort!!!

Agree Stewie, Lax is an alternative option if you are happy with the extra return travel, plus the 777W and especially the A380 are more comfortable that the older jets they use for Las.

Deals to Lax are to be had and I think BA have either 2 or 3 flights a days. Or codeshare with AA and transfer in Lax to Las. Of course you wont get into Vegas as early but an overall better route for me rather than getting to Lgw and flying the older jets.

If you want to do a little road trip you could also consider flying in to Salt Lake City or Phoenix.

I must admit its never entered my mind to fly through an airport 300 (?) miles away, and presumably extra flying time, to then double back to Vegas just to get a newer plane. But each to their own.

For some of us who dont live near to Lindon we have to transfer somewhere and if it means a more enjoyable flight or cheaper fare then I wouldn't hesitate.

You only have to take a look over in the BA forum on flyertalk the amount of people that take the early morning flight from London to Dublin then straight back on the next flight to London then get their main internatiinal flight out because it can often be cheaper than flying direct.

I suppose it comes down to the inconvenience you are willing to put up with. In all my visits to Vegas I have never flown direct.

I live near Manchester (nowhere near London) which has a direct flight almost every day with a cheap airline. If the price different was marked I would change somewhere of course. But personally couldnt give a toss if it was a battered 747 or a brand new Dreamliner, as long as it gets me there and I have decent legroom (and a bar I dont have to pay for on board!)

Some people want to spend their whole holiday in Las Vegas. Some want to combine Las Vegas with other places, either by flying between them or by driving.

Las Vegas is on the classic LA > Pacific Coast Highway > San Francisco > Yosemite > Death Valley > LV > LA road trip loop. It's also on the Grand Circle which includes a large number of superb national parks: LV > Zion > Bryce Canyon > Arches > Black Canyon of the Gunnison > Mesa Verde > Grand Canyon > LV.

Fare points :) Are you referring to Thomas Cook as the direct airline? I know Virgin used to fly out of Man maybe seasonal.
