Thanks for the replies.
Not massively fussed about tired deco...it is only for fri/sat night stay, and MSS rooms are only average.
But When I go to bed I do want to sleep, so might be an issue if it’s noisy.
I suppose with it being right on Fremont, as opposed to MSS which is nicely out of the way, a bit more noise is to be expected.
Also, as long as the room is clean and tidy which I expect it would be, never been in any Vegas hotel room that wasn’t cleaned to a decent standard.
We gamble in most of the Downtown casinos while there, but Four Queens always seems to be our favourite, and get a good play for our money.0 -

Can I ask what you mean about "old hands"? I've been to the USA for 5+ years running now, usually 2+ road trips per year. I'm more than happy to drive for 4+ hours at the end of the day...
That's exactly what I meant, if you've done those type of trips regularly, you'll know how much driving you can deal with before you get fed up
The most we had to do in one day were the drives to and from Denver, without that extension it would have been 4-5 hours a day maximum, plus time driving around parks etc. We've learnt we can deal with 2-3 long days driving (8 hours plus) in a fortnight, more than that and it's just too draining even with two sharing the task.0 -
I've started the Las Vegas 2019 thread and copied everything:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5947543/default-las-vegas-guide-and-mse-thread-2019
Today and tomorrow I will also check if links and information needs updating and if so I will do the edits. The thread is now ready and live. If anyone sees anything that needs updating can you please let me know?
Cheers and all the best for you in Vegas in 2019.0 -
