That's true.
The place is a bit of a dump. It's smelly, you stick to the carpet, the place is full of kids, and parents trailing giant soft toys that they have probably spend $100+ trying to win. But, we like it, and the Casino is always kinder to us than other places. (we did stay there in 2006, and the rooms were nice & clean. Pity the lift didn't work right, but it was a lot nicer than the Riveria)
But, the food is great, and they did the tastiest breakfast Danish pastries ever.
It's one of those 'must visit' places, because I think it was one of the few old style Vegas places that are steadily disappearing now.
And the car park is free too.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

I have stayed at both Circus Circus and Riviera - both were ok for what we wanted - being MSE I didn't want to pay over the odds for basically a bed, shower and a safe.
Don't know why but CC is now as expensive as some other Vegas strip hotels.0 -

Really didn't like the Riveria. The room had a horrible, smoky, damp smell to it, and that was a supposed to be a n/s room. And as it was November, the weather was raining and a bit chilly at night, so we had the heat on, which they sneakily charged $40 for when we left.
The first time we went to LV, we stayed at Sahara, and that was 5* compared with Riveria.
The CC room was lovely and clean. Spot on for a budget hotel. But it does seem a bit more scruffy than when we stayed in 2006. It needs a bit of a revamp.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

You keep bring back memories, we also stayed at the Sahara, was fun watching speed the ride outside my window0 -
They charged for heat!?
Yep. Cheeky Baskets. We had the heater on for a couple of nights when it got really raining and chilly (fun seeing the roofs $1 billion dollar casinos leak) and at the end of our stay, they charged us $40 for using it. We didn't know till we saw our statement. Said 'heating charge'. Outrageously cheeky by them.
We wouldn't have minded if it had been the mini bar, but we never touched that.
It was just one of those that had I had known what a dump the place was, we would have booked elsewhere. I wasn't really sorry when it got demolished.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

'Heating Charge' even more crafty than when resort fees were introduced.0

You keep bring back memories, we also stayed at the Sahara, was fun watching speed the ride outside my windowThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

We will be going to Vegas for our third time in April/May!
We are flying into Salt Lake City on 19th April, doing the "Grand Circle" (not in a circle due to SLC start), and spending 5 nights in Vegas (Tue/Wed/Thu in Tropicana, Fri/Sat, in Golden Nugget) between 30th April, leaving Vegas on 5th May to come back home!
Has anyone here been on the Grand Circle? Lot's of TripAdvisor posts on the matter...
I'm going with a higher budget for general spend, so looking forward to potentially visiting the Circus Circus Steakhouse! Any other good (value for money) restaurants on the strip (or drivable from the strip?).
I think downtown we will go Main Street Casino for the Saturday "champagne" brunch (we enjoyed lunch there last time in Vegas - 2017) and maybe find a prime rib dinner (or similar) on Friday. Anyone got any recommendations of good value brunches?
We are planning on seeing Piff the Magic Dragon & O by Cirque du Soleil.
Other Question: Can we use the Golden Nugget pool on the Friday while we wait for check-in or, could we use the Tropicana pool after check-out but before Golden Nugget check-in?0
