  • Hey everyone

Just wondering if anyone has some suggestions for me???
My parents are off to Vegas in March, and I was hoping to organise a little surprise as part of their Christmas presents.
    Thanks in advance :D

    hi
as photome has said above...Also,are there any artists/singers/bands your parents like? prehaps they may be doing a show in march in vegas.
I think there is a beatles type show, as well as micheal jackson tribute act which may both be still on?
Can you maybe see about a cabin upgrade for the flights or one leg of the flight?
or lounge access? (there is sometimes cheap lounge access deals avaiable on the MSE site)

    hope this helps

The only thing I can think of is limo airport transfers? Thinking something around £100 or so. Its just a token really to make up their Christmas hamper & wanting to get something that they wouldn't necessarily pay for themselves if you know what I mean?

    Thanks in advance :D

I think a limo transfer is a great way to start a Vegas vacation. I recommend Presidential limo. They are very good IMO.
  • There are better ways to spend £100 than a limo I would say. A taxi is only 20 minutes and costs around £15 with Uber. £85 would get a reasonably good meal in Vegas. Mon Ami Gabi is great and reasonably priced

Recommend this place for HUGE off strip breakfast

    http://www.omelethouse.net/Locations/Charleston.htm

Neither of us finished our plates of food , proper local food

$10 Uber each way , $30 for both meals with coffee (as against $39 EACH in Bellagio ).

The las Vegas north shopping mall is very nearby so we went onto there from the omelet house

    How about:
1 day rental of a Muscle Car via Hertz ! :D
£100 (via hertz.co.uk) includes the £0 no excess insurance.
Will get you either the Mustang, Challenger or Camero (All V8 models, not the tourist cars)

Write up the instructions on how to use offline Google Maps (Satnav), and draw up a route, say a drive out to Red Rock, or use a day, head north upto Valley of Fire, leads to Lake Mead, down to Hoover Dam, then back to Vegas :)

Nice day out driving in a beast, without having to worry about overpriced fuel!
Assuming they drive that is! :D
  • I'm heading off on a solo trip on Boxing Day (for UFC 232) and was wondering how strict MyVegas are re the 3 offer redemption rule. I've booked 2 nights in New York New York, a buffet and a Shark Reef ticket. Could I risk it for another buffet?

I think it depends what level you are and if you have paid to play. If the latter you may get 4. There is nothing stopping you purchasing the reward and if they wont let you redeem then just cancel and get your gold coins returned. I remember reading that some of the rewards not linked to a hotel that you can purchase more.

I have just returned today from our latest trip and with both my Wife and my account we did really well with rewards this trip. 2 x 2 nights at Bellagio, 2 x breakfast buffets at Bellagio and 1 reward for Nine Fine Irishman within NYNY. We had others but ran out of time with our other activities so will end up cancelling them. The NFI reward was meant to be a bogof entr!e but they gave us a credit note for $21. Really enjoyed the food there plus happy hour 2-5 midweek, $5 beers.

    Have a great trip.
  • I've noticed a lot of the rewards seem to be BOGOF which isn't much use when you're travelling alone.I won't be doing much gambling this time, unfortunately but I think I'll risk it anyway.

    Thanks!

  • Virgin sale! An Easter trip might be on after all as flights for our dates have halved in price!

Looking at a multi-stop with 4 nights in either SFO/MIA then 6 nights in LAS. Direct flights coming in at about £460pp (inc seats, bags, etc.).

Thinking about splitting our 6 nights as 2x 3 nights in different hotels to try some new places.

Has anyone stayed at the Palms? Any tips on which type of rooms to go for?

We liked it when we visited, and tempted with a stay there. Happy to to get the shuttle/Uber/Lyft to and from the strip.

Also intrigued by South Point, but looks a bit dated - has it been refurbed recently?

That is good news about the flights, see it pays to wait ;) Decent price also.

We stayed at the Palms two years ago in the Ivory Tower. I don't know if they have been upgraded but we had a standard room overlooking Flamingo which were pleased with. The rooms were modern and clean looking colour scheme. Palms has a strip shuttle till about 8pm which stops and picks up at Ceasers.
We particularly like Cafe 6 in the resort.

I believe Station casinos took over Palms shortly after our visit so don't know if that has impacted in any way.

I also liked Southpoint although the rooms are of older style (unless modernised). The rooms are bigger than average. Southpoint is way off strip but has a lot of facilities inc Cinema, bowling alley. They also offer free airport shuttle but if you rent a car that wont be required. This was one of my first stays in LV and I was amazed how cheap their shop was for alcohol considering the location. The restaurants were also cheaper than al the other bigger resorts I have stayed in. I have stayed there a few times now and would not hesitate if I wanted a trip away from the strip and had my own transport.

Good luck with your planning. I may take a peek at the Virgin fares myself, getting withdrawal symptoms after only returning 4 days ago:)
