I feel for us all this year, whoever and wherever we are. It's been a really tough year in lots of horrible ways.
One of my highlights has been chazza shopping, talking to the staff and volunteers has been so nice and is one of the few face to face contacts with others I've had for most of this year.
Having this thread to add comments to and read what others post has been lovely for me, living alone and not going to a workplace has made me feel very lonely this year; any and all contact with other humans has been particularly valuable.
To all on here a huge Merry Christmas from goldfinches and best wishes for a better New Year for you and yours.

I half hoped the enforced closure of charity shops might cure me of my inability to pass one without going in, but in the brief periods when they have reopened I seem to have become even more drawn into them! No amazing finds to report, but I do find a good browse is a tonic for the soul! Happy hunting in 2021 everyone. xxxUsed to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!10

The other thing I picked up a few of whilst our CS were open again, several pairs of school uniform shorts and trousers, either still new with tags or barely worn (I think there was a fair amount of stuff bought for kids who then hardly used them after initial lockdown) to put away for DS. He's starting Reception in September. Choice won't come through until April but (fingers crossed no hiccups) all three of our choices take grey uniform trousers or shorts.

As for buying gold jewelry, why should you expect to get a lower price for something like that in one shop as against another? The right price is the right price. People want their donations to raise money for worthy causes, not to give others easy pickings, and charity shops have a duty to keep that at the forefront of their pricing policy.
