I've sorted out even more of my stuff, waiting for DH to take a large load of stuff further afield. I don't mind seeing the kid's old bits in the local shops, but I'd feel a bit funny about some of my really old stuff doing the rounds here lol.

I've been keeping an eye out for 'work' bits again. I did this same time last year as was planning to return to work after Easter when my DD was due to start preschool. Obviously that didn't happen, so, back to the drawing board ready for the new year. DS is in nursery five mornings a week, DD will be in four mornings from January, she's doing three now. SO... fingers crossed, can get back to work. Though don't get me wrong, I like having a morning or two a week free to roam my charity shops.....Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Jan 2012: £16,000+ [STRIKE] Credit Card & Overdraft Debts Sep 2013: £13,023 [/STRIKE]

Miro - Brooks is still here. We have a new coffee shop which opened this year, it's called Karma Cafe, I think they opened in June but would probably have been earlier if things had been normal, well they are doing a fantastic trade and I've heard it is really good. We have a newish Costa in town too so it is good to see the independents doing really well in spite of that. I had to take DD to the optician after school yesterday so was in town when it got dark, it's the first time in ages I've been there at that time and it looked so lovely.Had a look around the charity shops in another nearby small town yesterday, I saw a rather nice dark gold quilted bed throw but didn't get it as I have a gorgeous bedspread from White Company on our bed so I would have to put that away and it was too expensive to be shoving in a cupboard. I also wandered around for a bit with a pair of vintage plates but didn't get them, they were only £1.49 each but I use all my old crockery and the glaze was worn away in a couple of places so I was a bit worried about that. Oxfam had all clothes half price, presumably because they are stacked out and had a no donations notice on the door, I saw two Jack Wills t shirts which would have been good for DS but they were £5.99 each and even at half that I thought they were a bit much, they were just cotton round necks.I did admire a very nice Denby coffee pot, I've forgotten the name now, it came with a milk jug I think but they were priced separately, the coffee pot was £10, the design was lovely but I never drink coffee from a pot like that and I haven't the space for things that don't get used.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I feel as if I am channelling my inner Elvis impersonator at the moment! After purchasing my bejewelled headband thingy yesterday....today I went and bought a pair of b/n bejewelled jeans, (bootcut/slightly flared in proper Elvis stylee too!!) They are by 'DG2 by Diane Gilmour', (think they might be QVC?) From the knee downwards they have various shaped and sized sapphire stones splattered over the leg, back and front. Very tastefulThey were £4 in the Samaritan's shop. The best part is that the stones are all sewn on so when I get fed up of the blingy look I can sit and unpick them all off!

Nothing I had to have in the CS trip yesterday. Today I found the perfect size Cuggi stroller for when DGS comes over but sadly neither me, the woman serving or the man hefting furniture about could work out how to fold it up so I had to leave it. I did get a nice wicker basket with a lid and a handle in the lid and a leather strap to fasten it. It’s like a picnic hamper but it’s deeper (about a foot) and it’s on tiny legs ( about an inch). It will be useful either for DGS’s toys or for our hats, gloves and scarves. It was £10. Also got DGS a Peppa Pig bowl for 30p.7

I have been looking to replace my everyday navy leather bag for ages and I always have a look on the shelves in any charity shop I visit. Today I struck lucky and found a navy leather replacement. It is made in Scotland and is branded Rowallan. I paid the princely sum of £4.49 and am delighted with it. Lots of inside pockets and butter soft leather. I going to give it a polish and will transfer my day to day detritus at the weekend.8

I have a basket that sounds suspiciously like that, I have it on top of my tall (wardrobe height) hallway cupboard and it has running shoes in it, it is actually a pigeon carrier which everyone in my family finds weird except me.
