How'd the Cath Kidston bag with the leather piping come up, Pollycat?I've left it as it was, DFV.Currently on the spare bed where I dropped it. Still got the price tag on and the receipt inside.Think it's one of those 'why did I buy that?' purchases.ETA:Thanks to those who gave suggestions on cleaning.I was on 'enforced lockdown' due to being caught up in a WASPI discussion on another board.2 -
Sounds like a winning Christmas Gift, Pollycat. The bag, I mean.
I bought a lidded casserole without its lid & am now thinking "y'know, Just The Thing for bulbs" - which is a lurch to my Denbyholic thinking I didn't anticipate.3 -
I couldn't resist my fave CS on the way to the hairdresser today as I'm not sure if either or both might be locked down soon. I spent the grand sum of £4, bought two new bone china mugs, one Portmeirion, a new Dunnes store pretty top, boxed M & S guest soaps, pair of new gloves and a BNWT scarf with National Trust labelling. None of which I desperately need, but it was an absolute pleasure to buy at that price. I went in for a replacement pepper mill, as two have disintegrated in the past week here!Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

I'm not meant to be shopping but I too am fretting about another lockdown, especially as my area has gone into Tier Two today. In The Helen Rollason shop a pair of Burgundy boots with buckles, from Topshop. £3, RRP £85, apparently. And an amazing white shirt with New Romantic style cuffs by Teatum Jones. I imagine this must be a diffusion line of theirs as all their stuff looks SO expensive and like it belongs in an art exhibition. Shirt is fabulous quality and was £5.99 in Scope.6

Older son wanted some salt and pepper shakers so I picked up 2 today for £4. Still boxed.
Got home and found they are Denby (DfV) and £24 new!

Not very exciting but I picked up a gel wrist rest and a gel arm rest for a pound each. Incredibly useful now I'm working from home, I've been putting all sorts under my wrist to stop the pain.
I also picked up some Cole Haan boots, brand new for £15. A bit steeper than I'd usually go but the heel fell off my last pair of charity shop boots so I was a bit desperate.
What's your preferred charity shop slang? Charity shop, thrift shop or the Oz op shop? (Opportunity shop)

Wow @Magpie100, I googled Teatum Jones, eye-watering prices on their site, you've got a real bargain there. As far as I can see you've paid 1% of the price when new, is that a record for this thread?
Anyway I popped into BHF on my way home from the library yesterday morning and found some Uniqlo Extra Warm HeatTech leggings on the rail for £4.99 so they came home with me.
Very pleased because I'd just got through reviewing my thermals and had decided that I would lash out on another pair of leggings from this very shop as the ones I bought this time last winter have been so good, new they would have been £14.90 which puts me up by nearly £10, hoorah.
I do agree with you @Magpie100 that the colour range in the tops is disastrous for fair complexions, especially the reds, yellows and greens, but find sticking to white, off-white, very pale putty, light blue and navy works well for me.
Further to the vocabulary question my preferred terms are 'chazza' or 'charity shop' depending upon the person with whom I'm conversing.5
