  • A very productive lunchtime was spent at a local chazzer today. I bought a smart Per Una work dress for £3 (I have no idea why, I have no intention of dressing in office wear for the foreseeable), beautiful tailored Wallis trousers for £2 (again "workwear" - who's going to see them on videoconferencing though?!) and a peach raincoat for £3. Plus the obligatory books - 11 of them today - for £3.50.

Yesterday's haul was some 50p treats for my niece, and a book for me for £1 which I can't wait to get stuck into.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

Wow, gorgeous jug, and only 20p!  What a great find.
    I was disgustingly lucky.
I've nowhere near that sort of success with clothing!

An unused Typhoon wok with lid at our local hospice shop £4. I actually want a carbon steel one but this will do for now. I picked up three books, two historical crime novels and the third volume of an autobiography of politician Alan Johnson whom I recognise by sight from the photos in the book but wouldn't otherwise have been able to pick out from a line up. The Mail on Sunday quote in the blurb on the back says 'searingly honest.....moving'. The words honest piqued my interest. Not necessarily a word I associate with politicians of any political shade these days.

Possibly searingly honest about other people??

Had a walk around my usual local chazza haunts this afty and came home with an M & S, fine jersey, long sleeved t-shirt top in cream with a dark blue abstract pattern on the front.  I love these tops and have quite a collection tho they are usually come in just plain colours.  So useful as an extra layer to wear under shirts and jumpers in winter so I could not resist when it was on the half price rail at £1.15.  Also picked up a pair of brand new Clark's  sandals in a metallic copper coloured leather - could not believe it when I saw the price....£3.50, and they are currently selling online at £65, (having originally been priced at an unbelievable £136!!).  Both items were from the independent Community Shop which always seems to have the best bargains.
Mmm love the sound of those sandals! Clarks and metallic...  <3

Alan Johnson is a decent man.

That's good to know. I might hold off to try and find the first two volumes and start from the begining
