More Charity Shop Bargains for 2018 & beyond!

  • A very productive lunchtime was spent at a local chazzer today. I bought a smart Per Una work dress for £3 (I have no idea why, I have no intention of dressing in office wear for the foreseeable), beautiful tailored Wallis trousers for £2 (again "workwear" - who's going to see them on videoconferencing though?!) and a peach raincoat for £3. Plus the obligatory books - 11 of them today - for £3.50.

    Yesterday's haul was some 50p treats for my niece, and a book for me for £1 which I can't wait to get stuck into.
    No man is worth crawling on this earth.

    So much to read, so little time.

    An unused Typhoon wok with lid at our local hospice shop £4. I actually want a carbon steel one but this will do for now. I picked up three books, two historical crime novels and the third volume of an autobiography of politician Alan Johnson whom I recognise by sight from the photos in the book but wouldn't otherwise have been able to pick out from a line up. The Mail on Sunday quote in the blurb on the back says 'searingly honest.....moving'. The words honest piqued my interest. Not necessarily a word I associate with politicians of any political shade these days.

    Had a walk around my usual local chazza haunts this afty and came home with an M & S, fine jersey, long sleeved t-shirt top in cream with a dark blue abstract pattern on the front.  I love these tops and have quite a collection tho they are usually come in just plain colours.  So useful as an extra layer to wear under shirts and jumpers in winter so I could not resist when it was on the half price rail at £1.15.  Also picked up a pair of brand new Clark's  sandals in a metallic copper coloured leather - could not believe it when I saw the price....£3.50, and they are currently selling online at £65, (having originally been priced at an unbelievable £136!!).  Both items were from the independent Community Shop which always seems to have the best bargains.

    That's good to know. I might hold off to try and find the first two volumes and start from the begining
