yorkie_cook said:First visit to a CS for a while, got myself a nice M & S top in Kirkwood hospice main shop in Huddersfield, £4 not that cheap but not many CS's seem to stock plus sizes, then in the Kirkwood hospice pop up shop I got 3 books & an OS map of a localish are for 50p each, the map was the laminated type which are normally about £15 each, also picked up a John Deere tractor ice cube/ mould 50p which will be great for a friends tractor mad 4 year old twin grand daughters. to finish the day off popped into the Barnados shop which all tops & dresses where £1 nearly walked straight out as it was colour sorted which I hate, thankfully spotted a regatta outdoor shirt which my friend wears most of the time, quick phone call to find out her size, of course no answer so took a risk it was right size, 10 minutes later she rang back & yes it was her size, sent her a picture when I got home & the response was she was over the moon as it was same style as her favourite regatta shirt.3

If you live near Huddersfield you are spoiled for choice! Down from the market, there's a street opposite a church with 2 charity shops side by side and and Age Concern (?) at the church end & an Oxfam & a Mind (?) on the way back towards the market. The mind shop is long & thin & seems to have a pricing policy of not much over a pound almost regardless, with a few Big Sticker items to reassure you they aren't utterly dozy about raising funds. (I adore them!) <off to research Lindley!>4

If you live in Huddersfield have you ever met Felix and Bolt the station cats? Very jealous if so. I always look out for them, and apart from glimpsing Felix on a seat as my train passed through once, I haven't been lucky. They are quite famous, so do pay them a visit if you're around! I even booked a trip especially to see them, and palled up with a couple who had come all the way from the USA as they follow them on Facebook, but we didn't get lucky and the staff didn't know where they were, or weren't telling!Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!6

Last week while waiting for train to Manchester Felix came up to me and jumped on my knee...he had dirty paws and I went with dirty trousers!!!
But he's lovely...I do love cats6 -

DigForVictory said:It’s the same sad cs story - you see something, think “later” & later? You either can’t recall which shop, or it’s gone, or both. Reckless impulsive purchase is sometimes the Right Idea. Not that considered acquisition isn’t good too, but sometimes the pang of “missed it” is sharp....7

From the only chazza I could find open in Ripon today.... a linen dress in an abstract leafy pattern of two shades of green... priced at £10. An M & S creation but beautifully made - even has a weighted hem, (like wot HMQ has), must have been from one of their 'special limited edition range? Possibly b/n as had the plastic thing linking the belt to the dress. Anyhoo, my challenge now is to remodel it down 3 sizes!!! I just loved the fabric!
A trip to the big CRUK clearance shop this afty unearthed a BNWT pair of dark brown, straight legged, smart trousers by Gardeur for £3. This time there were a size smaller than I usually take, (thank goodness for elastic inserts in waistbands!).6
