When you decide to cut off the inside seam labels in your favourite ex-c/shop lightweight teeshirt that you take and wear on every trip away, and while checking the washing instructions (that you never bothered with) notice in very small print "part of a 2 part set" - which can only mean one thing... I've been parading myself in a pyjama top all this time! I had to wear it to travel home as I didn't have another clean one, but felt conspicuous all the way, and every time I caught sight of my reflection "yep, that looks like a PJ top" 😳.Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!7

I have earmarked this coming Monday pm to have my next hunt so am currently compiling my wish list which includes a pickle fork and shorts I can fall into the river and then wallow back onto a paddleboard in! Does anyone else have a mental wants list or do you just look and decide there and then?4 -

On a more pedestrian note, no hunting was done this pm as rain stopped play so will retry tomorrow hopefully. Interesting to hear that others have wish lists as well and such very specific ones, I'm clearly an amateur and should sharpen my elbows. TallyHo and Yoicks to you all.4 -

I popped into a local small town with lots of chazzas last week. Boy was there a difference in amounts of people they were letting in. Granted the shops differed in size but it was disproportionate. We had only 2 in, 4, 6, 8 and 10 in different shops. Anyway first shop I got a nice 'going out' top on the £1 clearance and a pair of trousers that were brand new and were supposedly seconds also £1. The ticket stated the fault but I still couldn't find it. They were beige denim material with coloured stars all over them. Then in another shop I got a pair of Ron Hill walking trousers for £2.99. I've paid nearly 3 times that on Ebay so I was pleased with them.
I have missed the charity shops and car boots and the one place that still does jumble sales too.Strange old year!7 -
Well, a somewhat successful hunt. I was gently browsing the china and glassware shelves in the local hospice shop when I spotted a very sophisticated cache pot in a friend's favourite colour, buttermilk. On looking closer I realised it was paired with another in white and that they were the perfect size and shape for indoor hyacinths so I snapped them up for £8 and plan to look at Peter Nyssen and/or Crocus for themed collections that she will enjoy.
I also, inevitably, fell for another cookbook; this one a photographic Dorling Kindersley that promises to help me to learn every method I'll ever need and then some. Clearly my biological clock has reached WI and is ticking ever louder! Still I did resist the ten or so assorted Jamie Oliver's that someone had evidently decided to do without as well as the lovely lidded tureens so it's not all mad extravagance here!"She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

Top of my current list is a green patterned pure silk scarf preferably priced at around a pound as I want to make it into something else. Coming in at second place is a long bead necklace in shades of pale pink and burgundy - this is to replace a much loved one that I managed to destroy recently. However I very rarely find anything I'm actually looking for so have adopted a happy 'serendipity' approach.
Had a trip to a pawsh part of town yesterday with a couple of chazza friends and got a little carried away.....came home with a BNWT pair of dark denim jeans, 'Poppy' from Peacocks, paid £4 to find they only cost £9 originally! Also got a pair of flat shoes by Lunar, priced at £6.99, with white toe caps, the rest sorta beige basketwork effect, stripey wood effect heels, tan piping and strap across the front with a fancy gold metal bow thingy - very tasteful mais non? They are so completely not my style but I love 'em!!!!4 -

I think it wholly reasonable to wear a nice top by day or night, but chaps in pyjama tops need to be more careful - I can spot a collar that was never intended to withstand a tie over zoom & us daughters gave my father rather a hard time over that...3 -
Wow, gorgeous jug, and only 20p! What a great find.Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!3

Been a while since I posted - I’ve been in a CS whirl making up for lost lockdown time! This list might look like a lot (well, it is), but I’ve been picking up bits over the last few weeks, so didn’t buy all in one go.I’ve had a bonanza of sports gear: THREE Nike quick dry tops for £4 each today in the Salvation Army. I do lots of exercise and WFH means I am often in athleisurewear, so delighted with these - two short sleeve in black and orange and one long-sleeved in green. In barnardos last week I picked up a Nike waterproof jacket for £8.A pair of navy Gabor shoes, Sue Ryder, £4.95. Love Gabor but too pricey for me - these have patent snakeskin details and are so comfy.A pair of navy blue massimo dutti trousers, £4.95 from cancer research. A bit tight currently but will hopefully shed a few lockdown pounds soon.A Marimekko shift dress which I put away for next summer. £7.95 from BHF (who I think are overpriced) - it’s lovely though, bright purple and yellow.A North face cap for £3.Two black dressy tops for if we ever get to go out again from Reiss and Joseph. So lots of post-lockdown bargains for me, and now I must stop! Good to hear everyone is back on the CS trail. Much missed in lockdown. M1008
