dolly84 said:Popped into a charity shop yesterday and bought two gorgeous handmade Harris Tweed cushion covers with inners, these have an envelope back with a lovely button, one is in jewel tones of purple and green and the other is green and grey. They were made by an Etsy seller according to the label and were £2.50 each. I also bought a BN shower curtain for £2.50.
Couple of weeks ago I saw a set of four cushion covers in a chazza in a mustard and burgundy tweed...gorgeous but would not have looked right in my house - £2 each and new! Also spotted a tweed and leather handbag in a pawsh shop that I quiet fancied.....will wait til one appears in a chazza tho

Bring on the jewel tones & the tweed (indeed some of my favourite tweed include green & purple)! Splendid finds & may all vegans enjoy nice balls!
I think it simplest to say we went to Chorley and struck Denby. Lots of it. Youngest, (for whom we were supposed to be sourcing a suitable 18th birthday watch), was remarkably tolerant (well, even when handed a laden & heavy crate to lug back to the car).So.Interesting to see Currys has sanitiser gel are the tills and preston Waitrose had run out of paracetamol. (The bar chocolate range was excellent but I am eschewing the stuff for Lent.)Denby memories 20 pieces (I dropped, chipped, & binned a saucer or it would have been 21, dashit)One thought-to-be-Denby cottage blue large fluted flan dishOne Denby mug celebrating WalesAnd a massive clatter of Denby Rondo 43 pieces including plates bowls & serving dishes! Now to wash it & then try to pack it and store it all.Himself found an Opinel oyster shucking knife & is happily improving the edge on it so he can use it for wood carving.(Youngest turned out not to want a watch.)

DFV - all the staff in Wilko were wearing gloves yesterday and the only shop which had paracetamol was Fultons - or so I am told. We bumped into two friends buying two huge plastic storage boxes on wheels to store rice and pasta in.Miro - I love tweed on furniture, especially grey. When I go in a CS my eye is drawn to tweed, handknit woollens, cashmere and linen.Had a trawl yesterday and picked up a pair of Adidas astroturf trainers for DS for school, £6 paid which wasn't super cheap but we have been looking on ebay for a while and the cheapest were £12-£15 including postage.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

dolly84 My 'thing' is silk, pure wool, cashmere, alpaca, (got a disaster story to tell if and when peeps are a bit bored), linen, leather, crystal and anything stationery related
My local Waitrose and Aldi were both completely cleared out of flour, pasta, pasta sauces, rice, LL milk, handwash, hand sanitiser, loo rolls (of course), kitchen rolls and lots of over-the-counter medicines. I was just doing my ordinary shop...honest injun! But....I scored a free compensatory gift card from Waitrose cos when I went to their loo, before going to the cafe, there wasn't any hot water or soap and I complained to the manager. Not as if they have far to go to replenish the soap is it! The staff were running around like headless chickens tho trying to re-stock. What strange times we are living in right now.....
Anyhoo....to keep O/T....I popped into the community chazza and picked up 2 of the ramekins that the Potts & Co creamy desserts from W come in at £2 a whack...empty they were 10p each and such nice little pots - now have a set of 6. Also got a small white bowl from the Ikea 365 range for 10p too.

I went into my local big Sue Ryder today, I was in no fear of coming into contact with anybody, the place was empty! Thats my last trip out apart from dog walks for the forseeable (is that a word it looks funny?) future so disapointing there were no finds!Slightly bitter3

I would be surprised if charity shops stay open much longer, as so many of the volunteers will be in the over-70s age group.Used to be Bogof_Babe. It did need updating!5

The Hospice I volunteer at are saying the shops will close when they need the paid staff (managers in our case) to help maintain the Hospice itself. Probably in areas such as front desk. Already a lot of the volunteers have said they are standing down for now.All that clutter used to be money3
