I would be in a high risk category of possibly being severely affected if I caught the thing, (lungs compromised), so I'm just being careful rather than going into panic mode. Honest! Went into Aldi the other day and they had several huge pallets of loo roll inside the door and I just ignored 'em. Not stockpiled anything.....6

Thought I'd picked up an action DVD from Sense for 10p
Unfortunately the DVD inside wasn't the one illustrated. I've actually bought Ministry of Sex 2: Private Members.
Not the sort of action I'd expected.
Not sure whether I can take it back and complain.

It makes sense to be careful if you are high risk and I think we should protect the vulnerable but the response to it is as if it is certain death for healthy people, they are just going too far.

Felt the need for a walk and some fresh air yesterday so I ended up in the Cancer Research clearance barn. Spotted a Viyella, 100% wool, knee length, plaid cut on the bias, skirt in shades of moss green/burgundy/camel. Gorgeous fabric and beautifully lined in heavy satin....looked unworn and priced at £2. Only problem - it was three sizes too big!! Wandered about thinking how I could alter it to fit but the thought of rejigging the invisible zip and waistband put me off. Set off home still thinking about it...lightbulb moment! Anyhoo...went back and bought it and spent a couple of hours last night whipping off the waistband, removing the zip and unpicking the waist darts. Sewed new side seams in skirt and lining, a couple of inches in on each side, and then sewed some 1" wide elastic between skirt and lining at the waist to make a hidden stretchy waistband so no need for a zip. Very pleased with how it has turned out

I got a perfect condition Matalan brown bag today along with some brown high heeled low boot/shoes and three dresses and a scarf. I went to the hospice shop and everything was £2 or £3 there.6

Has anyone noticed how there’s a severe shortage of humour about? The week’s guest publication is VAT update which I do appreciate is a bit niche. However the tribunal decision para 110 is just wonderful (more paragraphs with bonus giggles) Go on. This indulgence won’t do you harm other than laugh til you ache. May also facilitate opinion response conversations with vegans....6 -

Miro - I have a Viyella skirt in a similar style, mini is midi length and different colours, I love it. Well done on your alteration.DFV - oh dear, I'm vegan and I make my own healthy balls.Popped into a charity shop yesterday and bought two gorgeous handmade Harris Tweed cushion covers with inners, these have an envelope back with a lovely button, one is in jewel tones of purple and green and the other is green and grey. They were made by an Etsy seller according to the label and were £2.50 each. I also bought a BN shower curtain for £2.50.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
