I found a pair of brand new unworn Clarks sandals for £4.95 at my local charity shop last week.
They retailed at £79.99 a couple of years ago,I know because I've just worn an identical pair I paid full price for for the past two summers. They were the most comfortable slip on sandals I've ever worn and was sad to see them go.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I found these ones,it certainly must have been my lucky day.
I'm a very happy bunny to say the least and if summer ever comes this year at least my feet are ready .8 -

It's the getting there that's a bit uphill at the moment.
Still, admirable opportunity to consider cataloguing what I have - just Himself ebaying so short on space presently.5 -
Long-standing visitors to this thread may remember the debates about what to do with all the Baylis and Harding gift sets that ended up in charity shops? If anyone is short of soap, now might be the moment...10

Good idea re the B & H, (still loads in the chazza shops too). As a 'self isolator' cos of being in a high risk category and being desperate for milk and bread I made a dash to a supermarket doing special openings this morning as I am fast running out of stuff. Waste of time...shelves empty!!! Anyhoo...I happened to be near the large Cancer Research barn of a shop so, as it looked almost empty, I popped in. Full marks to the staff there - they were cleaning and disinfecting everything, shelves, fixtures and fittings, even the ceiling and light fittings. Came away with an M & S 'businessy stylee' navy fitted dress with white piping and zigzag stitching on the seams £3. Heard that our Brain Tumour Research Shop has closed for the foreseeable future.5

Can I also give a shout-out to a fab specialist sports charity shop I visited while In Buxton a couple of weeks ago. It’s called Thomas Theyer and was set up by a mum in memory of her son. Loads of outdoor stuff and also gym clothes (or PE kit as I call it) I didn’t buy as I have loads of PE kit and hope by the time it needs replacing it will be the next size down! DH got an outdoor jacket for the garden though.
As we social distance I am planning a massive sort out of house and lots of reading so when and if we return to some kind of normality I will have lots to donate to CS.
Hope everyone keeping well xx7 -
I'm still not in the swing of the new forum hence fewer posts, but I dropped off a bag of donations this morning and picked up a few things. Some charity shops had reduced hours; some weren't accepting donations, and the BHF store was completely shut. I found a 'St Michael' satin scarf for £1.50 - 'made in Italy'. No idea how old it is, but given how long it is since St Micheal was a brand, it must be at least 20 years old, if not more. Then a Windsmoor vest top which is black and really nice quality - hangs beautifully - for £3.75. A Banana Republic mesh material vest for the summer (£2.50) and an M&S thin white stretch roll neck, which will layer under things in the spring when we are finally allowed to go out and about again. That was £4. And finally, a beautiful black Calvin Klein jacket, which was £15. Am sure this is the last time I'll be able to get out the shops for a bit! Hope everyone is keeping well. M100 X6
