Just heard:
All Cancer Research UK shops will close tomorrow at 4pm
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.5 -
I have sinned!
Supposed to be in self-isolation but I keep needing stuff, (paracetamol today as I ricked my back getting cheese out of the fridge). None to be had anywhere but R4 reported this morning that stocks will be in the shops again in 4-5 days. Found some in my travel medical kit....yonks old but hey ho!)
Anyhoo....I happened to pass the Sue Ryder shop and it looked quiet so in I went. Came home with a fabulous pair of knee high burgundy leather boots by Geox £3 and a pair of M & S brown leather ankle boots £3. Both have polished up to look like new! What are we going to do if all the chazza shops close down????4 -
Spend far too much on Ebay, probably.Miró said:What are we going to do if all the chazza shops close down????A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.5 -
Ebay bargains? Other online bargains? Free cycle & Freegle acquisitions? Really don’t know how to cope without my charity fix plus unable to volunteer as they’ve shut & even worse....the schools close tomorrow so the offspring will be home & requiring home education.........possibly til September but no one really knows........Lurking in a galaxy far far away...4

Noooo.....none of those would work in my case. Part of the charm for me is getting out and about. Doing a tour on foot of my local chazza shops clocks up about 10.000 steps on my fitness gizmo which helps to keep me fit plus I love being out in the fresh air. I never find any bargains of Ebay these days and the Freecycle/Freegle people seem so unreliable. I shall just have to settle for being an overweight, alcoholic with square eyes by the time this virus thingy is over and done with. (Too much time box-set bingeing with wine and nibbles!!)Dark_Star said:Ebay bargains? Other online bargains? Free cycle & Freegle acquisitions? Completely agree Miro it’s the joy of spotting something that you either wanted or didn’t specifically want but now realise you do. Plus the step count.Miró said:Owain_Moneysaver said:

Getting wine will be a challenge, all the wine and beer has sold out in many places and will probably go as soon as they restock.

Local Age Concern taking it day by day but says books & games & puzzles are flying off shelves. Can’t argue - a Playmobil pirate ship jumped into my hands (whereas the Denby teapot was a bit too expensive....)
