i yanked a tripp case out of a skip a couple of years ago its been very robust x5 -
I watched a small office & flats block go up, enjoyed the sight of builders using old cable drums as seats & tables to lunch at but when the building was complete & signed off, they left a skip for collection & it had a wheelbarrow in it. It came home with me & researched as a Haemmerlin! It's lugged rubble off the very wet roads, carried things around the garden & even been used as a "revision bench" (son sprawled in it with book) in the summer!
Husband found a shelf of Denby arabesque & called me from my laptop - by the time I arrived it was wrapped & boxed ready for me to load, as I got it into the car, the phone went again - another couple of cups & saucers at another charity shop over the road! (If you include lids, 40 pieces for £27!) where is the hot-darn! Smiley?!7 -

My husband is always bringing home things that get thrown into skips, he used to visit a card facory for work and brought home loads of cards, gift bags, notebook and pen sets and wrapping paper, all perfect but being chucked out, he found a barely worn pair of black leather trainers in a skip at a university took them out wiped them over and gave them to a homeless man, same skip had a huge spirit level in it, perfect working order and now resides in our garage - I just don't get why they are being disposed of.Had a look in a furniture charity shop yesterday, I was dropping off my sons wheelie office chair, we have redecorated his bedroom and we have had to change his seating set up, we bought this chair for £4 about 5-6 years ago in a CS and they put it straight out for sale yesterday when I dropped it off priced at £4.50. I didn't make any purchases whilst there but I am on the hunt for a tall wall mirror for his room.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I'm still finding it so difficult to get on with the new forum... hate that you can only be notified of someone posting as it happens (I don't want pop-ups appearing all day on my phone) or not at all. I used to like having all the notifications coming in overnight so I could read them on my commute. And they aren't grouped together, and now the preview text gets cut off! Anyone know a way round any of these issues?
In less whiny news I popped to the local Sue Ryder at lunchtime today. Found a pair of great condition cream Adidas high tops. Fake fur lining and you can turn the top bit down. They were only £5! Am doing so well with boots and footwear at the moment. Then a Nike top - short-sleeved, cropped, good condition. £3.95. Finally a glitzy, drapy blazer. Black with gold web pattern detailing on it. Sadly no label and no clue as to where it came from. It was £7.95 which may or may not be a good price depending on provenance, but it was worth it to me!

Our St Gemma's 99p Hospice Shop now has a 50p section
. Got a nice pashmina stylee scarf in a purple and black paisley pattern. Then in the weird 20p shop I came across a b/n M & S cushion in a cream and pale green woven pattern of a peacock under a tree. I bought i thinking for 20p it was worth it for the cushion pad but having got it home I really love the cover so will keep it as is. Must have come as a pair of cushions originally as the tag says 'Set of two'. Hope the other one turns up sometime!!!

Love the shirt Frith! How much was it? Despite having three Seasalt shops in the vicinity I have never seen a single Seasalt item in a charity shop here. Got my eye on a lovely spring/summer dress in their shop but no way am I gonna pay £79 for a simple dress made of t-shirt material....5
