I was in town today and went into the hospice shop. Managed to snaffle a fabulous gold/cream (not gaudy, just very subtle metallic sheen to it) cross body bag by Fossil for £6.99. It is pristine and has the serial number inside. Really happy.4

Miró said:Finally I went into the Oxfam shop and caved in and got the Denby Whisper teapot that I have been keeping an eye on for the last couple of weeks, (cracked mine about 10 years ago). Dunno if it was a good price or not at £6.99 - have seen a couple on Ebay for a similar price but they always seem to incur heavy P & P charges as well. Anyone know how to clean a teapot spout??? I've cleaned the inside til it looks pristine but I can see some staining in the spout. Have attacked it with a cotton bud and it's now soaking in soda crystals to see if that helps. Any other tricks? I'm sure the likes of Lakeland must do 'teapot spout brushes' but I aint paying their prices
Oh aye & £6.99 is excellent for a teapot cradled home in person. May it respond to your TLC & keep you in reliable supplies of the cup that cheers for years to come!6 -

Many thanks for all the spout cleaning tips! Been faffing about with cotton buds, bendy straws with scratchy bits tied on the end and an old, well washed mascara brush. Then my elderly next door neighbour called in, saw what I was doing and said, 'I've got just the thing for that' and popped home returning with 2 x Steradent tablets!!! After upending the spout bit in the Steradent solution for a couple of hours every last bit of gunk fell out with no effort involved at all.5

From my wander to the local Sue Ryder at lunchtime:
BNWT jeggings from M&S. £4.50. Will be good for housewear in the springtime.
A French Connection top for £3.95. I really like the styling and cut of a lot of FC stuff but think it is WAY overpriced new. This is a pristine cream sheer top with scallop edging. Will be amazing for spring when it gets here! £3.50.
A Campagnolo cycling top. This looks quite old, but Campagnolo are an Italian cycling brand that serious cycling aficionados love. This looks almost vintage - lovely detailing on the zip and branding. I'll be back on my bike when the clocks change and this will be great! £3.95.
A very smart navy blue handbag in navy blue with a gold coloured snaffle detail on the front. It looks in really good condition. Not leather - a sort of wipeclean material. Label says 'Nathalie Andersen' - googling this leads to a mystery as although I can see her stuff on ebay, vinted and depop she doesn't seem to have her own website, so tricky to get a handle on whether this was a real bargain, or not! It was only £4.50 though and I really like it.

A quick dash around the big Cancer Research 'everything £3 or under' shop unearthed a couple of bargains today. A BNWT Hobbs safari stylee knee length skirt in a sand colour for £2.....original price showing £65 and a pair of M & S chino stylee trousers with turn ups in a beige 'soft-touch' fabric, again BNWT original price showing as £19.95, chazza price £3. Been a good week so far!!4

Apologies....I seem to be spamming the thread at the mo!!!!!
Anyhoo...the chazza fairy smiled upon me again today. A visit to the community shop and they had a sale rail and I found a Reiss t-shirt top in grey with slightly puffed sleeves gathered into a broad cuff, scooped neck with 4 covered buttons at the back of the neck...£1. Then I called into the Hospice Shop where they seemed to be clearing stock and found two pairs of shoes. One pair by Lipsy in a nude shade and one pair by Coast in a dark taupe shade. Both pairs are 'court shoes' with 3" heels and both are in perfect condition and look as if they have just been worn once. They were £3 per pair. The Lipsy ones are currently selling at £45 in Next and I spotted the Coast shoes selling, pre-loved for £44.95 on the Shpock site. Due to the height of the heels they will be relegated to the 'restaurant' section of my shoe store, (for when I only have to walk from front door to car and car into restaurant.....no dancing, prolonged standing or running for trains and with the ambulance service on speed dial).4 -
I visited a small thrift shop in a nearby town today, I don’t often get there as it has very limited opening hours. I bought an A5 size leather Filofax in beautiful condition (still with the sachets of dessicant in one of the inside zipped pockets) for £1, a brand new in packaging silvery grey pure cotton double sheet for £1 (I plan to use the material for a craft project), and the sweetest Laura Ashley pink knitted tea set and accompanying fabric six-slice birthday cake for £2. My granddaughter is only six months old and a bit too young to play with this yet, so it will be kept safely until she is a bit bigger.6
