    What fabulous finds, everyone!! :j

I braved a dash to a CS during my lunch break yesterday. Thought I got off lightly this time with a letter holder for £1.25 (like this, but in grey - https://www.viking-direct.co.uk/en/Office-Depot-Letter-Sorter-Wire-Mesh-Black-17.5-x-8-x-13.5-cm-p-1524879?cm_mmc=Google-_-pla_gen_google-shopping_desktop-essentials_gosc-_-desktop-essentials-gosc-_-1524879&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI14DDpfKO5QIVBFXTCh3WHAccEAkYASABEgJI9vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) and a lovely extendable folder thing for only 50p, that I have seen being sold in John Lewis for significantly more previously! (It's this one - https://www.semikolon.com/das-akkordeon-faechermappe-mit-12-faechern-gummiverschluss-ciel.html )

And then, just as I was walking out, one of the volunteers put on a lovely-looking coat on display... £28 later, I've got a new coat. :rotfl: It looks to be in a really good condition. M&S Collection, half wool, half cotton, herringbone fabric, with a belt to tie it together (no buttons). To be honest, I thought it was £18 when I took it to the till, but still happy with it for £28. :)

CS itch scratched for another week now... :D

Loads of amazing bargains from everyone, and here I am to join in the fun. In the local Sue Ryder shop today:

    https://images.app.goo.gl/ZptvkKWPkpKrw2iDA

I'll be honest, I grabbed this the second I saw it as I had a feeling about it. I also seem to be drawn to German/Scandinavian brands at the moment, and keep finding them in CSs. It's a brand called Bitte Kai Rand, which I thought would be German but is I think Swedish. Because I'm sad (but I know you will all understand!) I just converted the Danish 'Sale' price in that link in to GBP. It comes out at something like £130. In the sale. I paid: £3.95. :j

Then, continuing the Danish theme, I found a shirt by a brand called deakudibal. https://deakudibal.com/shop/clothing/tunics-and-tops. Can't find the exact top but will search more later. It's a beautiful silk navy blue with a pattern on it. £3.95. Only two problems: one, it's the dreaded 'handwash only' (but should be fine on a delicate wash), and two, not realising what a lovely high-end brand this is I left another top by the same company on the rail. <facepalm> But at least someone else will be able to have it.

Next, a Marc Cain t-shirt. Another high-end continental brand that I keep stumbling across. I can't find the exact shirt but it's similar to this: https://images.app.goo.gl/RVrPSt7JPP3XN7oS7
    £3.75, looks unworn.

A pair of black yoga-style pants. I picked these up as they are a brand called Asquith, which is also the name of my cat. :rotfl: But also because they are BNWT and the RRP was £55. £3.75 to me. Made of bamboo. They are very long and stretchy so will be perfect for wearing round the house to lounge about in.

A BNWT 'Elle Sport' Tummy control swimsuit. Not tried it on, but £3. I see these often in TKMaxx and places.

A navy blue Vera Mont evening dress. Looks unworn, fits well. Crystal details on the neck and hemline, also in dark blue. Seems to be a House of Fraser brand. I bought it for Christmas parties and it was £5.50.

And finally, a pair of bright blue buckle-over loafers from Topshop. Pointed toes with thick soles. Very cheerful and should be good for work. £4.

Feeling EXTREMELY lucky indeed. Happy hunting everyone! M100

Obsessive research continues on the other bargains. :rotfl:

    Magpie! Well done!
Those are great finds, the two shirts especially,
I'd wear the first one so much, the last is gorgeous too but maybe not so useful, to me at least!
I wish I'd half your luck!

Thanks, Artytarty! It is partly luck, of course, but I think increasingly I am actually learning a lot about brands and brand value (to me, that is - not everyone will like or value what I do, of course). The town I live in is by lots of measures very deprived, although I live in the most affluent part of it. But the surrounding area is very well off, hence the pricey Scandi donations.

I think lots of people in the CS I was in today will gravitate to the 'established' brands they feel comfortable with (Next, M&S, etc) - and nothing wrong with that. But I am not sure they would recognise what looks like obscure brands in the way I am now learning. In my experience, the more obscure a make, the more of a bargain it tends to be. In short: I'm training my eye to a Ninja-like level!
  • In our north west area we seem to have a lot of Italian and Eastern European brands which is great. When they come into the shop they go for the brands such as Next or Marks and Spencer whereas as we ohh and arrrr over the lovely and unusual styles that come in all shapes and colours.

Today we had monsooning rain and 8c in a biting wind.......so I went and bought a pair of white jeans in the St Gemma's Hospice shop!! :o Why??*

Also got a fake Mulberry, 'Antony', cross-body messenger bag in brown metallic 'real' faux leather. Had fancied a real one in the past (pre-loved of course!) but thought this would be handy to use in wet winter weather as no expensive soggy leather to worry about. This was from BHF and a bit overpriced at £6.99.

*They are Viyella straight legged, nice quality fabric and a better fit that M & S these days as they go in at the waist! Have been watching them for a couple of weeks in the hope that they might migrate to the 99p rail. They didn't. Finally caved in today by telling myself they were only the price of a coffee and a teeny cake at £3.99.

It's simply TLI (as opposed to TMI). ;)
I need to know what Denby pattern etc etc.
It's simply not good enough, DFV. :naughty:
    :)

    Shame on me. <tries harder>

Whatever was I thinking? I posted & ran as I hadn’t unwrapped the excitement and eldest had a seizure headfirst onto a radiator at his flat & one of his flat mates was only-just-not-panicking. So he & I spent quality at two hospitals getting him x rayed & monitored.

All now well, & when I got to unwrap, better still!
Three dinner plates & a cereal bowl of Denby Storm (Always a Relief when the pattern is named on the piece!) & 2 tea plates of what I *think* is Colonial blue but the edge band is wider than the usual imperial blue or regency green. Intriguing!

Ah, the cup of coffee pricing scale! Where would we be without it? (Says she largely under the jackboot of the Acquisition Committee, happily chaired by Himself who is a very skilled hunter.)

2pairs of M&S grey jeans as new. £3.50 each. These are straight leg that I prefer and the size and length that fit without having to be altered. Very pleased.

Had a day out in Lancaster with dd no’s 2 and 3 and dh. Pickings rather slim but I did get dd aged 15 a cord mini skirt in khaki, she has been eyeing them up for full price in the likes of new look. It’s a next one and vgcond and was £3.50. I also got her a polo necked stretchy top in black and white stripes which wasn’t massively cheap at £4.50 but she was happy with it. Nearer to home in a local cs I got a Pyrex lidded butter dish 50p and some gorgeous handmade curtains for £8. These will be used at my front door.
